We are still waiting for a reply from ETF2L what their plans are for Season 38 with regards to medic/scout speed and will match their decision, or if the majority of players think that the current setting to disable medic moving at scout speed is unwanted.

We've already reverted the plugin on pugchamp with the knowledge that the overwhelming majority of players prefer having meds run at scout speed

Heads up to anyone using this website to redeem your gamer bucks
Passwords seem to be stored as plain text, so have your browser generate a random one & change your other PWs if you already signed up with a re-used one (also don't do that lol)

I've done the math: 1st place team can pool their points together and buy 4 pairs of socks or 1 padded sports bra between everyone.
I can't see anything you can buy for just 1100 points.

100 credits = 1 dollar
6000 = 60 dollar

KevinIsPwn Passwords seem to be stored as plain text
Have been talking to the site rep. They are keen to point out that passwords are not stored in plain text.

Sage advice. I use LastPass.

The points are somewhat irrelevant. This is a site that's willing to sponsor a free-to-enter tournament for a 13 year old game. Not only that but they're giving actual money and the prizepool is higher than most of the other tournaments they've sponsored in 2020.

idk how/why they're serving me my password if it isn't stored in plain text or functionally stored as plain text

the fact that they don't know they're doing something fundamentally wrong here is even more alarming

Thanks again. Passwords are currently encrypted but as you say, it isn't best practise to display them in plain text here. They've been pretty grateful for the feedback so far and they're pushing their dev for resolution within 24 hours. If I get word it's been completed before then I'll let you know.
Incidentally I'd be weary about posting your any part of your IP address. IP Geolocation is a thing you should be mindful of.

A) if they are at all able to know what my password is, they aren't storing it as an encrypted hash in any meaningful way. i hope their definition of resolving this is redoing their entire password system rather than just not making it clear to the user their pw's are stored this way. it'd actually be better to leave it as is than just removing the display
B) vpn, dw about ip

Put simply, if the website logic can show you the password in plaintext, so can any attacker after compromising the system

Not if you can display them. Notice how every other website does not show your password but rather just a change password field.
No, passwords can only be encrypted on the backend, and if ever done on the frontend, is a huge security flaw.

mate if they're even able to show you your own password then their security is fucked, and whoever set it up likely doesn't know what he's doing. I don't mean to sound like a dick but I seriously hope nobody gives their personal info to this website for a pair of socks, because it's a security breach waiting to happen. Unless you don't care about your address being in some database leak listed next to your steamID.

AgroThanks again. Passwords are currently encrypted
Passwords should not be two-way encrypted. Two-way encryption means there is a way to get from the encrypted password to the unencrypted password using a secret key. I would bet my house on these keys being stored on same database as the passwords meaning that anyone who has access to the database has access to the passwords easily. Passwords should be hashed which is a one-way function meaning there is no way to get from the hash to the password.
In addition, the passwords aren't even encrypted before being sent https://prnt.sc/wgpzhw so an eavesdrop attack gives instant access to your password without even needing to decrypt it.
If you have signed up with a password you use on any other site then change it now.

Yeah, it's definitely wild that people still don't have this set up yet. That said, it's important to point out specific instances, so that people are encouraged to get it sorted!!
The website is a security mess at the moment, for more reasons than the plaintext pw. I would advise against signing up until they confirm and prove these issues have all been resolved in a post.
