A familiar name now, the French mixing organization known as top5rocket have decided to participate in the upcoming Premiership season, for what will be their ninth appearance. Their last showing was during Season 34, where a more European roster saw them finish in 4th place, but none of their players have been idle since, and this team has the experience as well as the cohesion to be troublesome to beat for many

Elacour and mulaa will be returning to Premiership with their last games being in Season 36 during nerdRage’s impressive comeback during the latter part of the season. nerdRage was the first team to win Premiership without entering the playoffs as the first seed and the first team ever to do it from the 4th seed. With this accomplishment, Elacour’s skill as a demoman were acknowledged by the community when he pocketed the awards for “Best Demoman” and “Best Player” and mulaa showed that despite coming in after the season start, he can hang in there with the best. Now re-united after their break, they’ll be a tough combo to break down.

Corbac and Néo are the only current members of the top5rocket squad that first reached Prem back in Season 25, and although they also took a season off, their latest showing with Les darons de l’edition was a pretty strong one as well: achieving a respectable 4th place. Néo did especially well; Beater even ended up making a highlights video just for him. Both of them are vastly experienced players, with Néo able to dispatch most foes expertly and Corbac usually bombing everywhere at the same time, who'll be rounding up the combo on Pocket Soldier and Scout.

TEAMFORTRESS.TV : What is the story behind this new version of top5rocket ? How did you decide which players to pick ? And why is Cuby on Scout ?

Originally, mulaa and me were trialing for multiple European teams, and we noticed that there was a lot of French players available and keen to play next season, so we figured we could try to make a FR team. This is how the project was born.

About the players, it all happened quite naturally : Néo and Elacour were instant picks and dwo has showed what he can do in the past and we wanted to play a season with him. Picking Cuby up might appear surprising but he has showed promise in recent weeks. He has the potential to be a solid Flank Scout.

TEAMFORTRESS.TV : You've been on both French and European teams, is there a difference between calling in French versus English ?

Calls in French are more disorganized than in English, it’s a bit chaotic but on the flip side we can also make more precise and quicker calls. Playing among friends is also always a plus. The only issue at the moment is our lack of a true maincaller.

TEAMFORTRESS.TV : How do you see the season going for you ?

We’ve had mixed results in scrims so far so the first official tonight will be the true test. Considering that the team is made up of really good players (among others), I think we have a lot of potential for improvement.

Cuby is the only player who has participated in Season 37, reaching 5th place with new team, but he will be switching from Demoman to Scout. This change might appear surprising to some, but he has not looked out of it during recent scrims, so keep an eye out for him. Completing the roster is dwo69 on Roamer. A regular player on the other French team in Prem (lastly known as Les darons de l’edition), he first came to Prem as a very unknown quantity but stuck at it and is now a quite solid roamer, with a lot of Highlander experience to help him stay creative as well.
