Season 16 of RGL is gearing up to be an exciting one. A brand new Invite roster stands completed and confident, starting the season off with a clean 5-1, achieved in regulation: The Chuds

• Demoman: slugmundo
• Medic: luddy

Many may recognize the core of luddy, bigbankcampaign, and damn from MILKIES – who took back-to-back podiums in Div-1 and Div-2, as well as an Advanced championship under the moniker una limonada por favor. This core welcomes new talents Math, repeat Main champion and Advanced silver medalist, and raven, an Invite upstart with a lot of buzz surrounding him. The Chuds are no strangers to medals and have proven themselves tempered in high-stakes matches.

If there’s a chud to know it’s slugmundo. While most other MILKIES players stepped away from the game, slugmundo continued on into Invite. With quite a few Invite seasons under his belt, some less memorable and some quite impressive, this Invite playoffs Soldier is switching back on to Demoman, his original main class. We’ll have to see how slugmundo can translate his Invite experience into chud success and get his former teammates prepared for the best competition in North America.

We reached out to slugmundo for comment on The Chuds:

TEAMFORTRESS.TV: How do you feel about your transition to demo?

Very happy on demo. It was the original role I played on the first season with everyone and it felt very natural. All of that continues to feel the same 4 years later.

TFTV: Why remake MILKIES now? What’s changed?

This is the first time I’ve asked since season 3 where damn, bigbank, and luddy all said they were able to play so I had to lock down a roster. Raven and math are also jumbo pickups

If slug is the chud to know, then raven is the chud to look out for. While his name might not be as recognized as slug’s to the layman, if you’ve followed Invite closely then you’re probably quite excited to see him on The Chuds. raven is a young star who just seems destined for podium placements in Invite in the future. Despite switching off of his main class of Soldier and moving on to Pocket Scout, raven hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down and already has put on some remarkable preseason performances, with no shortage of frags or damage.

raven has been a peripheral member of MILKIES for some time now, being a regular participant in pugscrims during the team’s dormancy. As a natural choice for the revival, raven brought his former teammate Math from his 2nd place Advanced campaign on Grantus Vincere into the mix. Overall, The Chuds could use a player like raven, and this team seems like a natural continuation of his upward trajectory.

In scrims so far, The Chuds have proved a formidable force. Despite their status as a new team, they have taken a strong position ahead of low-Invite teams, and Invite qualifier-caliber teams can’t even seem to hold a candle to them. The Chuds are definitely a team to look out for this season, as they’re brimming with potential but haven’t proven themselves yet.
