truktruk is kurtkurt backwards
I love spiderman. Got shortened to Spyde since I thought it sounded nice. Simple enough
Zobby was taken from Metal Arms: Glitch in the System (best game of its generation)
Juno was originally just stolen from Juno Reactor
June was a joke as I had been using Juno for a while and someone told me to make it more summer-y as it was now actually June, this happened to coincide with when I first started really playing in cevo/esea. I added the additional u and e because apparently there were people out there who took June as an alias in places and June__ just didn't feel right. (should add that it is somewhat coincidental as the month was named after the goddess Juno)
Morphiend is my favorite name for any sort of drug addict since it seems to just flow together so well. The 2sÿ originally ended up in my name because I liked fucking around with symbols and accents in my name and always ended up keeping the ÿ for some reason. One day Dave__AC got mad at riot for changing his alias all the time and said at least I keep the ÿ in there because riot never leaves him any clues, and since then I just left it in as a psuedo-tag so I could keep changing my alias without dave getting mad at me.
Current alias is a combination of one of our scout's aliases with our other scout's first name.

Because I mean, who isn't a fan of aging Egyptian politicians?
My alias is short for Digital Bullet.... People in the local internet cafe, where I started playing called me Didge for short and that's been my alias ever since.
Immature 7th grader now it's been with me too long to change
First of all, I was twelve. I used to play CSS Deathrun a lot, and there happened to be this guy whose name was Relic. I didn't really know that much English back then, so the only thing I could connect that to was the alternative title to the 7th Harry Potter book, The Death Relics. Now as we all know, that book ended up being called The Deathly Hallows, and yeah. Hallow was better than xXxHellRaiser69.

Like 1000 other turbonerds in the late nineties, i thought using sephiroth as my gaming alias made me badass. Unfortunately there was another sephiroth that played competitive TFC in the same leagues as me, and it was really annoying when people confused us.
Much like tf2 now, i use to pub engy TFC alot. In TFC, instead of a pistol the engy had a gun that shot a green laser. I use to use that all the time just to annoy people (it had a push/stop motion effect if it hit). One night on a pub, i got a ton of kills with it - some 8 year old kid on voice chat kept yelling "oh my god, he keeps killing them with his phaser". He literally said phaser about 30 times...so i figured, eh why not.

needed something that was 2 syllables, so I took C 2, translated it into spanish, then messed with the spelling a bit
coincidentally, it's also a british acting company

Trawled through the Oxford English Dictionary instead of working on writing a vituperation (harsh criticism) of something, and settled on virulence.
One guy in MGE mistook me for that x6.virulent guy, at least until my first six shots missed.

Started from a fantastic game called Magi-Nation, sort of a Pokemon-esque game that was the first game that really inspired me to think about game design and stories in game. Taking a cue from it like every other 90's kid, I started as MagiNinjA in a game called Kingdom of Loathing (holy crap such a long time ago). Some people there were fake-aliasing by capitalizing certain parts of their name. I went with MAgiNinjA, aka mana. My alternate name (Null Flow) comes from the idea that something comes from nothing (in short). Jeez, I could go on about my name but that's a good summary.
Me and my friend came up with it as a combination of mine and his name jumbled together
Idk why

ik = Instant Karma, a really old and really bad ugc team I made with friends many years ago
Pure has always been my name from multiple games I've played before tf2

When I was younger, I would always be "that guy" and use my real name as my game moniker. Problem is, Jon is probably the most common name on the face of the planet. Then Star Wars Battlefront came out and I adopted a clone trooper designation as my name, went through several of those before I finally found a community, and that followed me to SWBF2. Then Republic Commmando came around and I became GI_Rabbi because holy shit look at me I'm a comedy prodigy old religious man running and gunning in a battlefield. There was an old vet who named himself Sgt. Rock who was a big player in the RC clan I joined, and we'd always fuck around with the other kids in the server who weren't in the clan. One kid believed I was a girl after Sgt. Rock told him that I was his "favorite jewish girl". We lost our shit every time it was brought up after that. Dunno where he is now, hope he's doing well.
Then I played BF2/2142 and I got real edgy and decided to name myself "Russian_Reaper" from a line I heard in Bad Boys. Changed it back to GI_Rabbi when that died down, and I went to play World in Conflict. There's where I soon got my current moniker. Me and my clan would like to stack teams, but when we were looking to just fool around we would just random. By an incredible ratio, I'd be put on the Russian side more than the US/NATO side. Anchorman had been out for a while, and everyone knew about Will Ferrel's scene in the credits where he goes through all those exclamations. Great Stalin's Mustache! was born.
After WiC, I started putting some big time into pubbing in CS:S, but I kept getting kicked and banned by "anti-racial" server plugins and server admins because "GI_Rabbi" was offensive. So I switched. Played some other games, and finally came to TF2. 2 TF2 communities, one imageboard, and a whole new slew of friends later, Great Stalin's Mustache! became gr8stalin because I can't fit the former into some name boxes.

Couldn't spell my name properly. Apparently some people actually spell it this way.
one of the best video games ever
before kirby and ultimately before TF2, i went by "neonultima". i was like 15 at this time? i mainly played on pokemon netbattle. i don't remember why i chose neon, but probably because i used to think neon colors were neat. ultima was/is my favorite move from the final fantasy series.

Suzumiya Haruhi, a Japanese light novel series - yuki being my favourite character. Longest standing alias I have used to date.
From my favorite singleplayer PC game growing up:
Thought it would be too arrogant to stick god in my handle and I've always spent too much time on computers/consoles (gaming, digital art/design, etc.) - so I settled on ExMachina.
exmakina where the proper Latin spelling is already taken or not allowed (wtf, PSN?).
I sometimes alias as Doumeki Kai because Osu Tatakae Ouendan is awesome.
