Hey guys, I've been helping quite a few new editors learn and improve their editing the past few months and out of all of them I've seen the most improvement in CjC's editing. So I thought I'd share a short clip he just finished with you to see what you think.

I give him quite a bit of criticism (you dun goofed on the colors CJ) but I'd love to hear your opinion on what he can work to improve on.

I thought the colors were alright and that this video was pretty good. The only thing that I felt was weird was that the music didn't "blend" in with the editing.

Yeah he forgot to get my approval on colors, oh and if you have any demos you should definitely hit him up.

It feels weird when the screen "bounces" on a frag and it isn't synced with the music, same with the speedy of the clips themselves. The flow doesn't feel natural. That's my main concern, or at least the first thing I noticed when I watched it.
EDIT: gek beat me to it :)

I definitely agree, I think anyone starting off as a new editor should definitely study the torn dudes if they are having problems with the flow of their video.

Not sure the correct term for it, but the first part of the gully clip and the granary airshot could have done without what I assume is Gaussian blur.

The term is diffusion but I agree. He added diffusion to the colors while making the low curves too dark and added deflare at the same time causing the video to look that way. I'll be helping him get his color correction right.

Pulling the camera back from the pistol's 'ironsights' at the end was an interesting contrast to the first person used throughout. Tied it together pretty nicely. Nice job.

could do without the slowmo following literally every frag

I think the colors were off and the music didn't really sync which felt odd but overall it was a good clip. keep at it!

Don't really like the slow motion and fast forwarding as it feels really jerky
