Charlie Kaufman is a great writer and has created some of my favorite movies (eternal sunshine, synecdoche new york, adaptation) [also directed Synecdoche]

I really loved "Match Point" by Woody Allen, too. got me into the rest of his work.

obligatory mention of goodfellas, scarface, etc.
