So I play competitive medic and I have a few simple binds that I want to use to make my job a bit easier. I pasted this into my:
bind “mouse5” “voicemenu 1 7; say_team UBER FAKED”
bind MOUSE1 +fire
bind MOUSE2 “+attack2; uber”
alias uber “slot2 ;say_team UBER POPPED”
bind “mouse4” “voicemenu 0 0; say_team UBER READY”
Windows (C:) > Program Files x86 > Steam > steamapps > common > TF2_bak > tf > cfg > medic.cfg, but absolutely nothing happens. When I go in game it's like I never typed anything. The main theory I have as to why this isn't working is because a month or so ago I tried to reinstall TF2 onto my E: drive rather than my C: drive because it was out of space. Now I end up having two seperate 'Team Fortress 2' folders.
Apart from pasting in the C: drive, I deleted that and tried to put the bind in :
Userdata (E:) > Steam > SteamApps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > cfg > medic.cfg. Same thing, absolutely nothing.
I really need help to fix this, it's so annoying an I just want to be able to easily binds things.
The person that gives me the fix will get free TF2 items! :D:D:D

After steampipe it needs to go into a new folder.
The correct path would be: \steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\[custom stuff folder name]\cfg

Do I make a cfg folder, then put all the cfg files such as scout.cfg, soldier.cfg, etc. in it?

You go to the custom folder make another folder called "userstuff" (doesn't need to be called this you can call it whatever you like). Then inside your userstuff folder you would need to put all your custom things (HUDs, Configs, Hitsound, Particles) in their respective folders inside of that. For example if you wanted to install a custom HUD you would put the scripts and resources folders inside of the userstuff folder.

No, renaming the folder won't help. Make sure that you don't have any other obsolete cfg folders in other directories anymore. If everything else fails, do a clean reinstall and then copypaste yoru cfgs back in.

did you restart tf2 after you changed the folder?

I don't have my cfg's in a custom folder and they still work. It's all in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\cfg
I have my HUD stuff in tf/custom though.

whenever you switch to medic in game try typing in console, "exec medic.cfg" and if that doesn't work, there's probably a file in the wrong directory

Yeah, I have all my config stuff just under tf/cfg and all my hud stuff in tf/custom as well and everything still works fine. I'd try deleting all tf2 files from both your C and E drive and reinstall (make sure you save ur cfg stuffs and disconnect from cloud) to clear up any issues it might have from being installed in two places.

Oh right, I think you have no autoexec.cfg that tells the game to execute your configs. Try #12.

autoexec doesn't exec class configs. It's only run on startup.

This. And I don't think you need the autoexec there either.

Make sure you disable steam cloud connection in game and in steam before doing this otherwise it won't do anything.

Tried it, still says unknown command.

Attempted, still zero results.
Thank for your help guys, this is really annoying me and I've decided to go all out and uninstall TF2, delete files, and then reinstall. If it doesn't work then I'll have to just cry. :(

I copied your code and cleaned it up, maybe that'll solve the problem.
alias +uber "+attack2; dropitem; say_team UBER POPPED!"
alias -uber "-attack2"
alias +radar "hud_medicautocallersthreshold 150"
alias -radar "hud_medicautocallersthreshold 75"
bind MOUSE4 "+radar"
bind MOUSE2 "+uber"
bind x "voicemenu 1 7; say_team say_team Uber faked, No we don't have one"
bind z "voicemenu 0 0; say_team Uber Ready!"

I uninstalled then reinstalled TF2 and it works! Thanks for everyone's help. The bind that worked successfully lets me only see viewmodels on melee. I just need help setting up a code sort of like this:
bind MOUSE1 +fire
bind MOUSE2 “+attack2; uber”
alias uber “slot2 ;say_team ¡UBER POPPED¡”
bind 4 key4
bind 5 key5
bind “mouse5” “voicemenu 0 0; say_team ¡UBER READY¡”
bind MOUSE1 +attack
//bind MOUSE1 spec_next
bind “mouse4” “voicemenu 1 7; say_team ¡UBER FAKED¡”
That'll send a message to my team when I pop uber, when uber is ready, and when I want to fake it quickly and effectively.
So far, this is what my custom cfg folder looks like:
http://i42.tinypic.com/1rvntl.png
I just put the class.cfgs in there because I didn't know what else should go in there. All I need now is instructions on a bind to use for those three things, and how to make them work.

If you need help with medic binds, add me now, I've been through it. :)

Completely unrelated, but out of interest, how is it that my configs in the cfg folder remained completely fine after the steampipe conversion while it didn't work for others? None of my config is in the custom folder yet works absolutely fine.
