It'd be really cool if we could do that, but I think after the KK debacle w/ the LoFi Valve won't be letting any groups give items out again in the future.
#30 Luke already made Valve aware of the item.
VHX is the distributor for the 50fps version. YouTube is the distributor for the free version. eXtv doesn't own either of those companies or their servers, so I think we're safe.

badge for the documentary
I think it would be a massive promo tool if it was given in genuine quality to who bought the documentary, or to who donated to the i46-i49 fund.
Edit: Im wondering about the infrastructure to stream the video, will you outsource it or stream it from extv servers? It seems really heavy if it's 4Gbs for hundreds of vviewes at the same time
I did mention it to Valve and just sent them the workshop link. Vintage would be cool too. I don't know how "easy" it will be though sending the items to the right steam accounts.. Maybe they can use a list of emails, but I'm not so sure about that.
VHX is hosting the site & downloads, should be fine.
Edit: ah, didn't see there's a second page here.... What Sal said!

Why does this have to come out when I'm on holiday and can't watch anything ;_;
Just bought it :D Your malefic plan worked, you decided to release the youtube version the only day Im not home, so now I have to buy it and watch it in a higher quality all because of you, you evil masterminds.
Wasn't aware of that VHX platform at all, seems pretty beast for independent movie makers. Hope the servers can handle hoards of tf2 fans and that my net is fast enought to stream it without buffering every 5 secs tomorrow.

What's that ? I never heard about any issues.

Out of interest, what is the "have a code?" thingy for?
Edit: movie_purchased
Invite Illuminati getting discounts on eXtv movies?
Edit: movie_purchased
I don't know anything about the code deal. It might be a general "use your VHX coupon here" thing.
So if that was a thing and I entered, you would still get the same amount of the money and VHX would get less? Just curious.
This is what I mean

Yes, it's for coupons... ??% off and stuff. I think the revenue share will stay the same.

KK hyped the ever living fuck out of it, like a "big anouncement" and gave the wider tf2 community the impression it was a really big deal for the whole of tf2. Then it was just a hat and people were a bit pissed.

From what I understand the current method involves using the Steam Web API to grant the items to other people's accounts, although I certainly don't have experience with it.
You probably could do it if you had people sign in with a Steam account somewhere in the process.

Just bought it, because I don't want to wait an extra day.
pre ordered it and its coming out at 8am tomorrow, the exact time my train to no internet for a week is :(
I got money left, so I'll give out a free copy. First person to add and message me on steam gets it.

Seeing how that is the way the neca models work then yeah it should be possible at least technically wise.
