Even if they took EVERY IM team from last season they still probably wouldn't get 10 - so they have to yoink somebody from somewhere - either by drawing up newly made teams or sacrificing the upper open teams on the altar of the 4th division. Not to mention that it's within the realm of possibility that the entire bottom half of invite may be IM teams from last season. Because the (in the old sense) High- and Mid++ tiers have such a huge rate of attrition.

From what I understand, there are only 2 divisions you can go straight into with a new roster; Open and Invite.
to play in Intermediate, you HAVE to have played a full season of open and made playoffs.
to play in Main, you have to have either played a full season of IM and made playoffs or played in Invite and get moved down to Main.

But what happens if there's not enough teams and everyone's playing in Open?

IMO this kind of situation is exactly where admins should step in and break the rules, if only for the betterment of the league.

the only rules I see are these:

so EVEN IF I have 2 people play for 3 of the first 4 games, an admin can subjectively determine that I am "roster hijacking", and that I should be being super nice to that guy as a result???

By default, all invite teams are just removed from the league. I talked with other invite rosters because they wanted to be place in main instead of removed from the league. I go over their rosters with them and say ok. It's basically just to make sure there's nothing fishy or broken.

You pmed me and just asked me about the hijack rule, went offline instead of talking to me about your roster and then automatically assumed you were going to be placed in main. This is why I said you don't have a main roster. Instead of complaining on the forums and claiming you should just get one since you're taking, what I can only assume, is someone else's invite roster, you should probably just pm me.

I just dont understand why itd be "someone else's invite roster" when it has players from the old team on it

they haven't scrimmed at all that i've seen but judging by the people on that team and the classes they're playing, they would be a much better fit in IM or Main.

I guess it remains to be seen if the rules will be broken in these situations for this season (they won't be) in order to flesh out the new IM and Main divisions.
