"I have eternal respect for everybody who can beat this map"
i have respect for anyone who can surf anything but this was amazing
i am so shitty at surfing, i just get mad and quit before i can actually get any better
Wow im surprised more people don't really know how to surf its incredible fun and rewarding.
I've never played a surf map. It's always impressive to watch this stuff, but I never found them as interesting as jump maps just because it's isn't a practical skill that you can use in normal games like rocket jumping is.

I think what he's saying is there aren't many surfaces in actual maps that you can "surf" off of like you can in surf maps.

he's mostly correct, the tight strafing that surf maps necessitate isn't even possible in real game scenarios because the air accel isn't high enough, and the ability to look perfectly parallel to a surface isn't exactly useful for clicking on people.
if someone made a 100% surfing game with these graphics i would play the shit out of it
nuoh my god
i cant beat the second level of the one with the trees and dirt balls
:(
by the last song, i almost forgot i was watching a surf video

What about conditioning your sensitivity, as in becoming more comfortable and precise with your mouse movement, and your player model movement? What about air strafing?
Of course you can't learn to play tf2 by surfing but I think that saying there is nothing useful to come from it is a bit short sighted.
Edit: I just realized how old this post is.
