I noticed this too the update literally raped my battery I had at least 60% of battery at the end of an average day, today when i got home my phone was at 20% ._.

the breaking point for me was when this one guy said that Steve Jobs said in an interview a few years ago that they would never make iPods/phones with colours, and then this girl said "Do you really think Steve Jobs cares what color they are?? Hes a billionaire!!!"

oh and my school blocked apple.com so nobody could download the update w/o a teacher logging in lol
their network probably would have crashed if like 700 kids were downloading it at once haha

Been using it since beta 3 and I really like the new design. Even better that some apps are updated to fit in now. Battery is fucked though, which is a shame since the OS X betas apparently improve battery life :/

And is ota update broke or is the released version the same as the last dev beta?

Apple does a job when it comes to marketing. They convince LOTS of people that they all NEED every new product/update that comes out. Honestly, aside from the iPod portion of the phone, the iPhone itself is really far behind the times. A lot of their "new" or "innovative" apps are actually knockoffs of jailbreak apps that have been available on cydia for a long time. Apple does take ideas they see coming out of the jailbreak community and try to bring them into ios, but they are usually nowhere near as good as the app they are trying to copy.

Fuck apple.

My girlfriend just upgraded her 4s to 7, and from an aesthetic standpoint it's way more attractive than 6. The animations are really cool, and they've overhauled a lot of things from a design standpoint. Performance wise it's not running nearly as smoothly as 6 did, the animations and window transitions are pretty stuttery. I can't say what it would be like on a 5, but if I had a 4s and the hindsight I have now I wouldn't have upgraded. Not having an iPhone has saved me from this though.

I like it. Looks much prettier, camera is more functional, that tool bar that flips up from the bottom is extremely useful, search is easier, and being able to access the calendar anytime is dope too. Overall good upgrade.

BTW, I realize Android could already do all that and more. Save your need to feel superior for someone else.

I like the control center, spotlight anywhere, updated notification center, and card-based multitasking (finally). The splash of color. The clock icon ticking in real-time is gimmicky but I'm simple-minded and drawn to it...

I dislike the thinner font that makes it harder to read outside. Animations take too long -- to wake up the phone, to show you all your apps after unlocking, etc. The visual style of buttons is completely arbitrary.

They definitely borrowed a lot of ideas in this one, but a rising tide lifts all boats I suppose.
