i suck at MGE. i almost always lose against just random people in random servers.

whenever i do well against someone, they quit. whenever i lose to someone, they quit. whenever we have a close game, they call me "fucking shit" and then quit.

and when i join the reddit server i just end up playing pyros over and over again, or people go spy or sniper in the middle of the match and i just beat down on them without losing a point and i'm not really getting anything out of it.

and whenever i see people i know on the server i leave because they're going to internally make fun of how much i suck like (wow this kid lost to THAT guy? scrub status: scrubbaron of scrubsylvania)

MGE is hard and i dont wanna do it anymore but i never get to practice anywhere else (dm servers piss me off because they empty and become one-sided and change maps every fifteen seconds)

if youre getting antsy about people internally mocking you i think you have some other problems bud

I don't see why you can't just mge one of your friends so you can shit talk each other in mumble while not having to get mad because its your friend and who cares if you win or lose

I've never had folks be that gay, maybe once or twice, but the reddit server has been fine lately. It's important to not let shit like that get to you. Client side mute is also an option if you get upset easily by what folks say. Most of the time I play with music on and can't hear anything to begin with.

mge = people pretending that they mge for practice but in reality just want to kill shit and win so they complain about people who just want to kill shit and win.

I try to think of mge like soccer drills, you dont just run away with the ball in keep away. And try to practice skills that matter

MGE will not make you better except to develop good muscle memory initially. After a certain point it will cause you to have bad habits (ex.tunnel vision; too many direct/airshot attempts). I would say after you hit about 2000 elo in mge, you are just memorizing mge spawns, rocket spots, and ways to dance on the badlands crates which all are completely useless in a real game. It doesn't matter that you lost to a counter-jumping gay soldier; the point is to mge for no more than 30 minutes a day for warmup purposes only then go scrim. Don't get mad, any player whose opinion means anything would tell you that MGE literally doesn't matter at all and many invites don't mge.

theres a huge skill diffence between a 2000 and a 2200 soldier

invite players mge ( vs friends/other invite players) all the time, just not vs YOU

while mge doesnt matter, the skills you develop in it do and there are quite a few players who would literally still be in open save the dm they learned in mge

the whole point on mge is to work on shit like directs and hitting the hard shots

when you play basketball do you only go for layups?
