esea- pay to play, can't even get a real season opening date or release an official map list
ugc- free to play, consistent league and match scheduling every season/week, releases map list at the beginning of each offseason

that's not the final map list, it doesn't list g7 for snakewater and people in this thread have even mentioned "map rotation pls"

Where did he get this information? Is there anything from ESEA saying this will be the rotation? I keep seeing this thrown around yet when I search the ESEA website I get nothing about a confirmed rotation. The maps on that list sure are the maps being played (versions are wrong though), but I don't think the order is necessarily correct.

Y'all act like you don't know what maps will be played. The map version and schedule order is irrelevant. Unless this is literally your first season of competitive TF2, you've been playing these maps for a long time. If you aren't familiar with the maps by now, so help you god.

Because the EU admin can't possibly have any idea what maps will be played.

I believe all maps will be their latest versions, but I'll try to ask at the open captains' meeting tonight.

when I say "official", I mean just that-- official. An announcement on the ESEA league site or publicly posted by an admin himself, not people starting spectulative threads copy pasting pm's from conversations they had with an admin or from another source. Whether or not the current map list everyone's playing by has proper versions and correct order, there has still not been an OFFICIAL release of S15 map rotation.

Hypothetically when competing in a league one should be able to navigate that league's site and find the official map rotation for a season, not have to look through a third party's forums for posts from other community members. So no, no official map list has been released yet. And maybe I'm alone in my expectations but I guess I think we, as players and a community, deserve something more concrete from a league we pay for, especially when it's something as simple as a season's map list.

Obviously, there are advantages to esea (LAN, prizepool, generally better players, etc), but it seems very unorganized. This may be a pretty unpopular opinion, but I'm starting to get tired of ESEA, and I've only just registered/ started looking for a team.

ESEA's decision to keep the QF in the whitelist through the last season turned (what's already pretty stalematey) LAN into a no-fun fest, at least from a spectator POV. Did you guys watch the fully charged with Killing and Kalkin? Kalkin seems almost disconnected from the wants of the community entirely (gru, minis, etc). And do bitcoins even need to be mentioned? Have we as a community just decided that it's no biggie? I don't care where the money from the mining went, it's absolutely silly that it could happen in the first place.

How can you announce the starting date to your paying customers this late? It's not hard to set dates in advance. In fact, it's a lot easier.

I get it, ESEA is the best thing TF2 has for a league right now, but it leaves much to be desired. I don't know, no one minds complaining about esea, but whenever an alternative is brought up, it gets -frags and no decent responses explaining why.

edit: by interpreting the "-frags" you mention as the community's opinion, they are happy with having three different season open dates, confusion of map list/versions, and don't believe they deserve better from a league they pay for. wonder what everyone's complaining about then
