I've googled hacks for multiple free mmo's and private WoW servers, please ban me from ESEA and all future esports. In fact just kill me, I don't deserve to live because I am cheating filth, lower than low, and I need to be purged from existence. Please, do not risk me tainting this holy game.
If we all make sure to misrepresent everyone else's positions we can all be certain that no actual conversation would occur

I used the cheat code to get the sports car in Age of Empires II. At first I thought it was fun to able to achieve the results I wanted without any work. Then I realized this was a terrible decision after I remembered that I am a person of integrity and was a member of my friend's Age of Empires 2 club. I promise to never do so again.
I've set to make an example of the recent vac bans for hackers on all of my services. Seeing as the response has been mixed in the past I've tried to be consistent with my position and I will reiterate it.
If you have been recently proven to cheat or have a recent vac ban on any account you own, you'll no longer be allowed to access my services. This includes any and all games which can receive a vac ban. I do not want cheaters and hackers on my services and want to put my foot down for what is acceptable.
This zero tolerance mentality will be rough and unforgiving, but people need to be held accountable to their actions and will be made examples of.

AMCI learned not to do bad things in my life because I was punished by the world when it figured out I did them.
If we're really going to ruin his TF2 career based on what he did in some other game go ahead and ban 90% of us.
How does that make any sense, "90% of us" haven't cheated, or modified the base program so we had an unfair advantage over others in other games.
It really bothers me how hard you're lobbying against insom in this thread when you defended phrakture in the mge alts thread, especially considering:
1) It was obvious that the account that was vac'd belonged to Phrakture.
2) There was actual proof that Phrakture used the account to hack in TF2.
Again it wasn't in a match and Phrakture hasn't been caught on client, but as of now there hasn't been any proof that has shown insom hacking in tf2. Why do you seem find this case different just because the VAC was on Insom's main account? Would you have been ok with it if he hacked in CS:GO on an alt account? Would that have made a difference? The community really does need to take a stance, but if you're going to make an example out of Insom you're going to have make an example out of Phrakture as well.

Does anybody remember doing cheat codes in gta 3? r2 r2 l1 r2 left down right up left down right up... Nostalgia i think is the word for this.

I knew someone would bring this up, but again, I have to reiterate, I defended phrakture before the actual evidence came out. For all I knew the thread was an elaborate frame by someone who hated phrakture on an alt. There were a lot of accurate connections to people and their alts. Having a lot of accurate connections to peoples alts, didn't necessarily mean they were all accurate.

It's more like saying that since you've managed to connect 8 other people to a crime means that the current instance must also be correct, there's a fancy name for it and everything.

I agree actually. In this case, I never really doubted the fact that phrakture cheated. There was multiple sources of evidence, such as the mge elo farming. But what if the person revealing all these alts decides he hates someone and wants to out them for being a cheater, even if they aren't? He could link anybody to some random banned account and every person in the community would believe this guy. I don't like giving that ammount of power to anyone but ESPECIALLY not someone on an alt.

As much as I have doubts to the community's general intelligence and as aware I am of how circlejerks in this community operate, I'm pretty sure that the allegations would only have weight with the community if they were corroborated with supporting evidence and the community would react as such.
People like Kalkin, June, and Kohaku would probably remember how gatmasta from the FA community was accused by a lot of people of hacking to the point where there was a really big thread about it with demos and everything. gat didn't have a great reputation with some of the more disconnected posters because they forgot that people have fun differently (they liked to do HONORBURR MELEE ONRY while he'd rather whip out the rockets and go for frags) and he'd unleash mad shittalk if he got the feeling someone was analpained. Imageboard social culture is different from forum culture but the point still stands that the OP is given the burden of proof (I'm pretty sure it was some anon but Dekus took over at some point and started railing into gat pretty hard) but if the evidence is there it must be addressed. The point of this anecdote is that in the evidence provided there were some fishy shots (much like that "video" of insom from earlier in the thread) but they were generally ruled as being more luck-of-the-draw or sound-reliant than anything else and even though gat was not liked by a portion of the community, everyone saw that he just wasn't fucking around like they were and that he wasn't hacking.
In both cases, there were plenty of sources of evidence. However, dismissing a claim simply because you THINK the evidence is wrong without your own evidence to substantiate your claim is equally retarded as not assuming innocence until guilt. Although I'm pretty sure that the comparison isn't the greatest to use because of how much some people vehemently hate others/act like really spoiled and immature children in this community over the most miniscule shit.

im actually pretty sure insom cheats because we demolished their team on well (thanks to myself being a god) and then they rolled us on badlands so im pretty sure there was something foul afoot. therefore i petition lanfest to overturn their victory and to hand the prize (capes n trophy) to our team.

Thank you shrugger, that is exactly what I was thinking earlier :) That is why I said in the thread earlier,
So far the only real proof of that is an anonymous accusation.
All I said was nothing is really proven, but it would be worth investigating, and nothing has changed that.
Which at the time was true, everyone who is talking about how much evidence there was for it being phrakture, but that all came much later than my posts.
Maybe it was stupid of me to add
Might be worth investigating, but I'm not going to be upset about it.
to my first post, but I am pretty sure I was in a hurry at the time, thinking about my appointment.
It would be more accurate to say that the police start getting anonymous tips from a certain individual who has the same contact route, as to who commited certain robberies, and they all turn out accurate, eventually they get a tip that a rape/murder has been commited by X person. It would be foolish to execute the person named simply based on the anonymous tip.

Well, we psychiatrists have found that over 8% of the gaming population will always be hackers. I mean, after all, there's something of the hacker in all of us. I mean, how many of us can honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't felt like improving his in-game performance via illicit means? I know I have. I mean, most normal adolescents go through a stage of scripting two or three times a day. Most youngsters on the other hand, some youngsters are attracted to it by its very illegality. It's like murder; make a thing illegal and it acquires a mystique. Look at arson; I mean, how many of us can honestly say that at one time or another he hasn't set fire to some great public building? I know I have. The only way to bring the number of drama threads down is to reduce the number of offenses - get it out in the open - I know I have.
