I've missed Toaster going full retard, always an entertaining read.
Toaster... if you know you have a bad reputation (like me) why would you do something that will derail you more down?
as you get -fragged non-stop.... how ironic
ToasterHey you learn something every day
obviously you don't... banning someone (for cheating in cs:go) across all games is quite retarded, especially since he streams TF2 constantly. I've had an idiot like you tell me that if I cheated on a test in high-school, who's to say I won't cheat online in video games? Or cheat on my girlfriend? Or cheat the truth by lying? Or cheat the law by stealing and not getting caught? How about we stupidly equate one action to generalize the rest?
Insom is actually a good guy. I've known him for a few years now and he's always been good in TF2. Met him in person multiple times and he's genuinely nice. Obviously, online, we all (including me) have our alter egos. We all can get a little arrogant at times, but it's part of the game. It's part of being competitive. Some are assholes who actually mean it, but insom is not one of them.
Do I think he deserves a ban from CS:GO? Sure. But not from every competitive aspect of TF2. I can see why the Sponsor wouldn't want a person on their team to be a known "hacker", whether it's TF2 or CS:GO. That was also a correct move, IMO. But, all that being said, give the kid a fucking break. As if all of you are perfect? Or maybe you are just that arrogant. You're so arrogant that anyone who kills you is automatically labeled as a cheater. How about most of you ban yourself from talking since you probably lie more than half the time.
Cheating the truth isn't any better than what you claim insom did, Toaster. But hey, you learn something every day, right?

I really thought Toaster had turned a corner when he posted on the Phrakture thread. Even though I didn't entirely agree with his point it was at least phrased well.
Now I'm back to genuinely believing he is 8 years old.
:( kinda blew it kid
EDIT: shocka, comparing cheating in another competitive online videogame to cheating in another similar game is not that unreasonable. Not saying I agree with toaster (I don't), I just hate to see bad arguments countered by exceptionally terrible ones.

For the people saying he could've been hacking at LAN too, my seat was right next to him at the Intel Lanfest this past October where his team won and he was wrecking kids as sniper and scout. He wasn't sneakily toggling or whatever bullshit people think. He was playing legit and was carrying the team. I was watching his screen more than I was watching my own...probably why we lost...

I know a lot of people that have hacked in other games for fun/boredom because they really didn't care about that game and they don't have in other games, especially not TF2. And they are good players. I've watched them play myself in person. Which ironically enough I've watched insom play in person. He sat two seats down from me and I stood behind him as he played and did just as well as ever. My friend nevdawg sat next to him and also watched him play. That's not even the point though. It's really stupid to assume someone that hacks in a game does it in others. The only solution to find that out is to take the time to go review his demos with a wallhack enabled to see if hes walling, and for other hacks. Saying you guys are too "lazy" to watch his demos isn't a good excuse. If you're so convinced he's hacking in TF2 you should take the time to prove it, not go off an assumption that has no basis. It's not a bad counter-argument. it just means get your information right, and gather facts before you jump to the conclusion that he's hacking in TF2. Sure some people said that he isn't hacking in TF2, but not everyone here is convinced, and they don't have good reason for it. It still stands that he's banned from pug.na and other places for awhile when he didn't do anything wrong in TF2 and someone needs to fix that. We all could if we wanted to. He doesn't deserve the bans for TF2 and that should be changed.

We know Insom cheated in cs:go, no proof of cheating in TF2. Seems to be more proof that he doesn't cheat in tf2, from the lan and other testimonials. The real question is, how do we as a community want to punish cheaters? I personally love insom, but I'm not in a position to judge at all.
Is cheating in another game enough to punish him in this one? Do we just base it on his tf2 history, or his history as a gamer?

I've warned Toaster that if he keeps it up he will get a ban. I like to lean on the lenient side but this was pretty dumb of him to post.

More importantly I think we as a community should take this opportunity, in light of toaster's exemplary posting, to revive phrases like "all that and a bag of chips" and "gettin' jiggy with it."

I never said it's unreasonable to compare cheating in one game to another. Because, for one, you have to see cheating in BOTH instances to have a comparison. How are you going to take one instance with facts that are demonstrable by VAC ban (+more) and compare it with another instance supported by ZERO facts?
The only thing exceptionally terrible is your ability to grasp the concept of fair judgement based on logic and evidence. If someone was stealing from Macy's and got caught, should the judge conclude that since he was caught stealing from Macy's, all stores he's ever been to before Macy's he has also stolen from...
I don't know who hurts my head more, you or toaster.

on topic: insom cheated in a game that wasnt tf2. a punishment should be delivered but his removal from esea, pugs, etc should not be permanent.
off topic: ban toaster

Holy shit I can't believe this thread is still going on.
I got minus fragged a bit for my views on this earlier, and after I learned that he had been to LAN recently it changed my opinion on the matter, but if there is still some raging debate about the situation going on here is an easy way to end this.
Someone stream demo reviews of insom from this season with wireframes on. As conductor pointed out earlier that if you watch a demo with the mindset that he hacks you are gonna make yourself see "fishy" things. If anyone decides to do this unless you see him perfectly tracking someone through a wall then lets just drop this. He did something stupid, he's paying for it. We shouldn't crucify him and keep him from enjoying this community if he's legit. Someone watch the demos and either clear his name or permaban him based on the results. Either way lets just end this.
