Yeah OK. Definitely needs a redo. But I'm out of my depth as far as trying to set up a form that can accurately capture responses and tie them to unique IDs. Can someone help me out with this?

also, you could set up a doodle cos then it requires people to enter a name. just say only votes with people's steam ID/profile link are valid votes.

EDIT: problem is there's no way to limit people to only 4 votes, there's only an option to limit it to 1 vote so you'll probably have people voting for more than/less than 4 nominees. could just invalidate those too i guess

I could probably do the steam URL thing with the google doc as well. The results it shows to the public are still manipulateable by bots that way, but I won't use those - I'll clean the data and verify URLs.

Still could forge votes with other people's Steam URLs, but there's no way to prevent that unless you have them log into Steam. Hm...

yeah you can create google forms to require specific fields like alias and steam url/ID then vote so it'll be easier to sort out what's fake

EDIT: it'll be a lot more deliberate of sabotage and I don't think bots will be able to fill out the form accurately. they could, but it'd be a lot more work to design and i don't think people care that much

np <3 also, up to you but i would suggest making it so people can't see results. it would defer people from spamming votes and skewing things, and i'm sure people were voting multiple times just so they could get to the "see results" page. you could just post a ss of the final votes after it's done
