Stop decking the halls. Put down the tinsel and step away from the eggnog. Take a moment out of your busy schedules of "Falalalalaling" yourselves silly (you'll go blind that way), and reflect on just how magnificently TeamFortressTV rang in this holiday season. Don't remember? Seriously... go easy on the eggnog. Lucky for you, ZOWIE does, and what they saw has them stringing up the mistletoe. Pucker up.
For anyone actually in the dark--perhaps you blacked out from sensory overload--TFTV, alongside ZOWIE GEAR, hosted a day long Invitational tournament two weeks ago on Sunday December 9th. Beginning at 3PM EST, eight North American teams of the highest skill level competed for quality gear provided by ZOWIE, and quality praise provided by you, the community. The event lasted roughly eight hours and was thrilling from start to finish. We saw underdogs 6Cuties knock-down favorites Lost in Translation, iT powerhouse their way into the Grand Final, and Mixup come narrowly close to defeat before climbing out of the loser bracket and usurping the iT kings.
In what was the first collaboration between the two organizations, the live coverage broadcast on TeamFortressTV peaked at 3,430 viewers, was highlighted on the Twitch homepage, and caught the attention of 85,580 unique viewers, all of whom bore witness to the action-packed, back and forth, high-stakes battle that waged between TF2's most talented players. The matches were impressive. The coverage was impressive. The viewer response was impressive. And ZOWIE . . . well they were impressed.
With the first partnership of TFTV and ZOWIE being a success, the organization has extended their satisfaction to TFTV, as well as begun discussions for future collaborative endeavors. If that doesn't put the angel atop your tree, I just don't know what will.
We are happy to keep supporting Team Fortress 2 in 2014 through TF.TV and its tournaments. ZOWIE GEAR focuses on competitive gaming gear and we believe TF2 has a lot of competitive gamers. We look forward to a great 2014 where we help fuel the competitive TF2 scene with new tournaments where the best teams go head to head and the community can follow the competition closely through streaming and also recaps at TF.TV.

So as you dubiously eye the presents under the tree, shaking each box to see which sounds most like an FK, take a moment to appreciate when Christmas came early this year, and think ahead to 2014 and all the possible gifts that may there await you. Once again, congratulations to grand-prize winners, Classic Mixup, who won 6 ZOWIE FK mice , and to runner-ups, iT, who procured 6 ZOWIE GT-F Rough mousepads.
Merry Christmas, everyone. Have a safe and happy New Year!
