Thoughts on Steelseries Rival?

Here's the link to the mouse from the Steelseries website: Steelseries Rival

Cost: 59.99 Euro or 81.51 USD

I recently had the Steelseries Sensei Raw until the sensors started bugging out, and I'm currently using my backup SS. Kana. So I wanted to get some input before I buy a new mouse, options are: -G400s, -Dethadder 2013, and -Zowie FK.

Then I saw this new product and I was wondering to discuss about it and get some opinions before I settle on a new mouse.

Personally, I really like the non braided cords. I've had some problems with the SS braided cords in the past as they break apart after a few months of use, then you'll get some messy hairs.

Worth it?

Can't speak for the Rival, but you can't really go wrong with the FK or AM from Zowie. Neither have braided cords and both are well made.

all the cs streamers i've seen were bitching about it and said they preferred the sensei that they had before, but most tf2 players say the sensei has bad accel or something so im just assuming theyre both shit

I think any of the other mice you listed would be a far safer bet.

I thought it was bad accel when it was over 800 dpi or something to that extent.

Also the rival looks a lot similar to a zowie mouse so I would just get a zowie.

I love it. After trying a bajillion mice, I finally switched over to this one from the G9x.

The rubberized grip is perfect (not ambidextrous like the Sensei, which I found uncomfortable), the buttons require just enough pressure, and the sensor seems flawless (far superior to the G9x, which I believe has a sensor very similar to the Sensei).

The mousewheel is kind of crappy and doesn't register some clicks right out of the box, but I don't really care about that.

Clip one of those on your desk where the cord contacts. Feed the cord through the clip. Braid will never fray again.

As for the mouse, it might be decent, but it might be shit. Go with a deathadder, zowie FK, or G400. They are pretty much universally considered the best gaming mice.

Hey guys he is asking if anybody has tried one and what the verdict was, not what your favourite mouse is. I for one would like to know as well.

I have a Rival right now, and I can definitely say it's about the same quality as the Deathadder. I haven't had any problems with it, and the led's are pretty cool. Plus it's got a whole 100 MORE DPI than the Deathadder. Quality.

if you don't like your current kana v2, you probably won't like an FK, they're relatively similar in shape and sensor quality. If you like a *full* palm ergonomic mouse, and you rest all of your fingers parallel to the table, get a g400. Otherwise go for the deathadder or the rival, i've heard it's relatively similar to an IE 3.0.

words of wisdom: never buy a SteelSeries mouse. that's all I have to say really

oh one more thing, the name Rival for a gaming mouse is just awful. Coming from World of Warcraft Arena where Rival is a scrub who couldn't make Gladiator...
