What primary do you use for medic and why? Personally, if my team is doing a good job of keeping people off of me I will usually run crossbow. If people keeping getting up in my face though I usually run syringe gun.
arrows if you can hit them, overdose if you can't.
arrows, the burst healing is amazing when you need to get the whole team healthy again
Crossbow is one of the best long range weapons in the game so that's why I use it
bearodactylarrows because AIRrows
fixed that for you :3

Overdose is nice if your team has been losing midfights and you find yourself constantly needing to run away to survive.
But basically crossbow is the greatest. Burst healing can be super clutch, and there are so many areas where you can quickly fire an arrow that can make things easier for your team (into blands bats from choke as you push to spire, etc.) Hitting an enemy med for 75dmg from gray bridge as he pushes through choke can be pretty huge.

Maps where I need to get out after my team has played too aggressive and died I run Overdose and Crusader's on others, CC is just too good, if you don't use it you're missing out.
Assuming this is for HL, arrows are great because of the burst healing in an environment where its tough to put heals out to players that need it without compromising your position. Also its pretty good for self-defense with the recent passive reload buff; you can combo with ubersaw and do a surprising amount of damage to attackers. Just don't miss.
Crossbow for people who play to win
Overdose for people who play to not lose

I get immense satisfaction plasma-gunning people to shreds with streams of needles. It keeps me from switching off my healgun too much and makes me more of a threat should I absolutely need to fight back. Sometimes I miss a lot though ._.
I feel it depends on the map.
Process, arrows for life.
Granary, needles, usually usefull against rushing scouts.

Depends on the map in my opinion entirely. Some maps crossbow is really good, some maps overdose is way better for escaping. I feel like a lot of medics waste too much time trying to crossbow unneccessary things which is taking away from the uber building which leaves them at a disadvantage. As a medic a lot of uber fights come down to mere seconds of build time and those could've been seconds lost or gained by using the crossbow intelligently. Metalworks is such a big map I think overdose is better. Most maps i'd use crossbow though now. Overdose isn't only for escaping either though it can also be used to progress forward more quickly to get yourself in a better position to leap frog points. With full uber you run as fast as scouts do. The faster you're in position the faster your team can push in with uber.
The burst healing from the Crossbow is too good to pass up.
I find the Overdose's 10% speed boost to be negligible, but I look forward to reading from someone that does not think so, I really want to hear someone on the other side of this, I'm curious.

Crossbow in any competitive situation. Needles (usually overdose) on pubs because you can actually kill people who mindlessly M1 you with them. One of the most frustrating things is hitting 3 straight crossbows on someone W+M1ing you in a pub and still dying.
Arrows for maps with wide, open spaces.
Overdose for tight corner-y spaces.
Blutsauger for the K/D.

Crossbow because it delivers wicked frag movie material
