Hi all, I'm emkay. (waiting for my forum name to get changed)
As the thread title suggests, I'm LFT as Starter Medic at a Mid-Open level.
Past Experience:
ESEA S14 “The Scoop Troop” Starter Scout/Roamer, Mid-High Open.
CEVO S4 “Simple Machines” Starter Medic, High Open.
One point that is important to stress: I'm most likely going to be playing Highlander next season, so I would prefer to have a captain that is flexible with scheduling, and is okay with me playing Highlander in general. I can scrim any day except for Fridays and Saturdays before the next Highlander season starts; and can be flexible if need be.
With that being said...
What am I looking for in a team?
-I'm looking for players who are dedicated to improving, willing to watch demos, and can give and take criticism repectfully.
-In terms of people's personalities, I'm looking for people that simply want to play the game – we can talk about meta, play other games, whatever – as long as they are laid-back.
Pros and Cons about me/my Medic play:
Pros:
-Very confident in my ability to survive. My dodging and surfing is one of my biggest strengths.
-Solid gamesense to go alongside said survivability. Counting ubers isn't a problem 9 times outta 10.
-Calm calls with sound reasoning.
Cons:
-I can be very overcritical of myself. I might praise myself for a surf, but I'm usually never satisfied with how I play.
If you're interested in trying me out, feel free to add me through my TFTV page above, or here.

This is one of my best friends I've ever met all over the TF2 community. I'd say, he's really dedicated to learning the game and getting better. Would be a really solid pick up, if you work with the HL schedule. Highly recommended.

Emkay's a very nice and chill guy. He has experience playing a wide variety of classes in different leagues and formats which gives him a broad perspective on things. That Simple Machines was high open this past season is a generous assessment. I wish we were but there were all too many problems. Emkay definitely improved over the season but his strengths were, and still are, mechanical motor skills. He's got strong, reliable surfs and hits many clutch xbows and saws. The gamesense and awareness, though, still need more developing.
Medic, as with any class, has tons of moment to moment decisions that need to be made. To give a sample scenario, let's say we have uber and the other team doesn't. We hold mid but they aggress into us despite our advantage. They lead in with their pocket or roamer and you surf his rocket far away and save your uber, but your team then gets wiped since they were expecting to have the uber used in order to take advantage of an excellent scenario: The entire enemy team feeding themselves into your uber to get slaughtered. This seems super obvious when written out here but during a fast and frantic game in the heat of the moment it can be less clear.
Overall what's needed is more and more play time in 6s. There's nothing that can replace time-put-in when it comes to gaining relevant experience so good luck and keep on playing.

RJ has a nice attitude and he will continue to improve I'm sure. Seems like he'd make a good teammate. Best of Luck.
