All of the great events lately have been on the few days I'm totally not available. Watching the vods is cool, but I'll miss the live hype. ;$

hanbroloxalox demo for mixup for this?
I think plat's demoing at lan with seagull roaming, but seagull has exams so he can't play yet.
I might be totally off on that though. Just what I recall from all the older drama threads.

sorry guys, we're trying to sort out some issues with truktruk's tf2. blame valve.
if I click the stream links it doesn't take me to the twitch channels "The requested channel was not found, please double-check your spelling or try a search."

1) It's a generic link to teamfortress.tv/stream
2) The stream hasn't started. When it does, you can find it on the sidebar or also (probably) on the twitch.tv frontpage.

are the stvs public? if not, are the stv demos gonna be public after the event has concluded?
Sick match between Ding Dong vs Goldman Sachs. Now to figure out overtime.

By the way, what was the config Lange wrote for these servers? I'm unclear on those details.

What a great match. Looking forward to the rest of this tournament.
A tournament that is intended to be broadcast in a very public fashion should have very strong fakenicking rules or very well put together configs for the new statusspec command that all of the casters are using. It makes TF2 look pretty stupid when casters are calling people something different than what they have on screen. It just makes it look disjointed and unprofessional.

I believe that CEVO's match mod is designed to force players to use their registered alias, as seen when the neat aliases disappeared when we switched over to the team server. However, there is also the issue that some players just have a different alias registered than the one that most people know them by. There really isn't any good solution to that.

Working on the new statusspec thing, but when someones name is Chinese characters that I cant pronounce, what is a guy to do? Note to players: don't name yourself something dumb.

Yeah there was this guy, Mason, in Dota 2 tagged up as 9TEnTaCLeSurPriSe for the longest time and he was playing for EG, one of the top teams in the entire world. Don't know how many people here follow Dota but shit like that has really hurt the scene recently, they're barely scraping by with 10 million dollar tournaments.

I apologize, I did not realize that the mix^-wp match was not on a CEVO server last night. I can see why there were issues there.
Anyway, I would be willing to implement an automated system to force player names based on an existing database into StatusSpec so that casters wouldn't have to manually create configs, but there is no publicly accessible API to give me that information.

i think the community would be willing/ could provide most of the info for the upper teams at least if someone started some initiative

How common/rare is it to have a player on different teams in different leagues?
That's the only issue I can see with keeping a DB, other than making sure it's up to date.
