I found this to download VODs you don't have saved locally: http://www.twitchtools.com/video-download.php
It might work for muted VODs, if all that happens is the audio is muted and not deleted completely.

Apparently GTA speedrunners are already getting their vods flagged, because of the radio when you drive cars in the game.

I'm currently using this to save a rather large highlight of mine. I'll report back if the audio works (the entire vod was muted)

rip rhythm game and music intensive streams
maybe someone will find a a way around the copyright (speeding up the song by like 3-4% used to bypass the youtube one)

Hoping this will finally push people to look at IP legalities because it's all fucked to hell and has been for years.
Hope Twitch takes a big hit for this.

On the bright side, lack of pregame music before matches means that I can leave the stream open with the volume on and know exactly when it starts without getting distracted from what I'm doing in the meantime.
If this is permanent and way too inconvenient we can forget twitch and esports
people make site that everyone loves and comes to use alot -> sell to google overlords -> copyright check everything on site -> everyone gets pissed off but no one does anything about it

Why do you hope Twitch takes a big hit? You should be hoping the RIAA does!

Twitch reserves the right to stop filtering audio content in VODs in its sole discretion at any time

I'm trying to remember, but I think there is a US law or statue that says that if an offer to buy your company is at a certain point you have to take it because NOT taking the offer is considered detrimental to your company.
I don't think that's what has happened here, but in theory, if somebody really wants your company they could throw enough money at it to make a court force you to do it.

Downloading my vod from TwitchDown did work. You have to play it in a FLV-compatible player (like VLC) though.

A business isn't a sellout for making money.

WariSo is Hitbox gonna get big soon?
The really small stream delay and no content ID are making it look pretty good.
Twitch is here to stay because everyone is already invested in their services. People with 5k/10k/50k+ followers doing this for a living aren't just going to pack up and risk their income going to a new site to start from scratch.

For real though, copyright law has been a complete joke for a long time. Hope this causes people with influence to actually do something about it.
yeah but a business that pretty much caters to video gamers shouldn't be fucking them over
business-wise it's fucking brilliant, sell for a billion then stop caring entirely
