Scouts: Clockwork/Kiler
Demo: Termo, WAR was really good too
Pocket:
Yuki > Mike
Mike had some terrible games, and that's with Knox telling him what to do at all times. Meanwhile, Yuki consistently fulfilled his role throughout the tournament. I don't think he had any bad games. I don't even think he ever went negative. If I had to take one pocket from i52 on my team, it would definitely be Yuki because of his insane technical skills and the intangibles he provides for the whole team.
Roamer: Blaze, hon. mention to Tek
Sniper: Sheep
Spy: Tek
I'm going to refrain from choosing a medic cause we barely ever spectated them.

4G is kind of hard to play demo on tbh, scout and pocket get wayyy more heals. Games easy when you get double mikes heals brah :-)
Oh yeah. I completely forgot that taking more heals = easier games and all my pipes automatically hit.

I think lansky deserves a lot more credit than he's received, he may not have hit 15 airshots in a game but he had an insane k/d* throughout the lan and always did his job, just solid pocketing overall.

156-79 in the brackets + finals

wouldn't be alive to do all that damage if it wasn't for all those heals mate.

twenty2020group stage was just glorified scrimming
I think its kind of unfair to say that any team could have placed 1st when Froyo literally 2-0'd iM and then epsi twice.
It's one thing to say that teams are super close when they go 3 maps in the knockout and it comes down to the final round (via epsi vs. mix^) or golden cap (iM vs. mix^ and mix^ vs. epsi). Those were fucking close, but watching Froyo play during the actual bracket I never caught myself thinking "wow these teams are dead even". Close yes, but Froyo just outplayed iM and epsi repeatedly.
I don't think its fair to say that either, IMO, epsilon played super bad in the grand finals, lots of ´precipitated decisions, rookie mistakes, some times they just seemed to run in with no objective at all, thats not the epsilon I have seen playing for years. So I dont think its fair to judge them from those last maps either. Looking at the whole tournament, where they dominated the invite group, and then played semi-decent in the knockout phase, I think its safe to say any of those 4 teams could have gone home victorious on a good day, I really dont think froyo is so far ahead the other 3.
Universerulerthat's what i mean. every team that's won i-series recently has dropped a game in the grand finals at least, froyo's the first to dominate the entire tournament and not drop any maps.
But they did drop 2 maps in the invite group. Against immunity and Epsilon respectively.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't WAR still top damage as Demoman at i49 despite getting fewer heals and playing on a team that was getting shat on?

i think the point is that getting more heals is obviously beneficial and i don't see how you can make an argument that it isn't

As he has said himself, he played far fewer matches IRC, that team went out in group stages never winning a match.

We played in the invite games and went out in the knockouts to team infused. We still played all of the top teams.
And I never said that.

Seagull and clockwork were the best players in tournament in my opinion. Though Seagull won't get much credit, simply because mix^ didn't end up in a top place.

imo in i52 the soldier play was beyond amazing. Each and every soldier stepped up, there were huge plays left and right. I felt that the scout play was lacking. There were some scouts that were huge for their teams, but others were not.

Froyo dropped 2 maps all tournament, all in the group stage (one being a golden cap loss in the groups).
Epsilon, Mix^, iM, and Aws all dropped 6 maps each.
So even if we hold group stage maps equal with bracket maps (seriously this logic is terrible) Froyo still look dominant. When you cling to their 2 group map losses as evidence that they weren't that far above the competition it really ridicules the tournament itself and looks like an attempt to cheapen Froyo's feat.
Like you call Epsilon "dominant" in the group stages because they played a single map against Froyo (JUST ONE) and were able to win in a golden cap situation. But Froyo beating Epsilon FOUR times in the knockout stage, 3 of them being very convincing map wins, apparently only equals their overtime loss in the group?
If we look at the whole tournament Froyotech was head and shoulders above the competition when it actually mattered, and its really unfair to cling to the group stages when both sides know the result doesn't actually matter. Like I cannot emphasize how small a sample size the group stages were. 2 maps, you're saying Froyo wasn't clearly the best team because of 2 single 30 min maps used to determine seeding.

Oh yeah. I completely forgot that taking more heals = easier games and all my pipes automatically hit.
If you get tanked you have more opportunities to push forward and do more damage.
In a pocket scout/soldier system like froyotech you have to figure out how to do as much damage as possible while keeping the perfect amount of space between you and the medic so you don't over stress an idiot like shade with a 3rd person for more heals.
Space between you and the opposing team is obviously super important too since if you're too far away you do nothing but if you're just a little bit too close they can catch you out and theres nothing the medic can do to burst heal you fast enough. You have no buff and if he reacts really fast and turns around to heal you, you already took damage so you have no crit heals and the soldier or scout that pushed passed the uber probably kills you.
Its not a big deal, it's not like any retard can take a bunch of heals and take 2nd at I52, but i played a season or two pocketing like you in the past and the damage came really easy. But the damage doesn't matter at all when your pocket dynamic isnt as explosive as a pocket scout + soldier. I still cant believe you guys didnt tank mike, the best player on your team by far. Doesn't make sense. I love eating shit.

Check the logs, look at the healing receive on Mike...
Also remember how numlocked destroyed everyone when he was pocketing !
Mike is a player with a really good survivability, like he can deal a lot of damage without a ton of heal.

Omfg so many people with damage numbers. Just watch the players play. The number youre obsessed with gives absolutely no context. And comparing someones dpm between two tournaments a year apart is fucking hilarious, and i hope i dont need to explain why.
