In most cases, it is. Unfortunately there have been more than common cases where they get mad because they lost or something. In Creature's case it was someone who just wanted to make some sick fun for himself. Technology is going so far.

There are great cops out there and being a cop means you have a greater chance of being put in a situation requiring heroism but worshiping the uniform is really unhealthy and it's what leads to a lot of the dickhead cops that are running around out there.

The 4th amendment violation won't come into play legally, unless the guy gets charged with something and it goes to court. In which case any evidence on his phone will potentially (based on a ruling) be unable to be brought into evidence and shown in front of a jury.

Unless this guy was seriously injured (doubt it) no lawyer would take his case because he's not likely to be awarded monetary damages.

The main thing to think about in a lawsuit is how much money it directly cost the person. Medical bills, construction defects that need $$$ to be fixed, wages that would otherwise be earned, stock values, etc. Attorneys will not take a case unless there is a pretty clear economic benefit for them -- which almost never comes from "pain and suffering." Pain and suffering is always asked for as an additional bonus on the award, and very rarely awarded.

It depends on the state really - somebody calling a swat team on you to fuck with you surely could be pretty easily proven in court and it'd be pretty easy to show that you were damaged as a result of the actions of the caller. In the same way that I'd be allowed to sue somebody who fucks up my car or writes/says nasty (untrue) things about me.

Also the amount of "cop hate" is directly related to the amount of shitty things they do. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the more often force is utilized in policing the more people will grow to distrust and dislike the police in general. Thankfully, I live in an extremely rural area so everybody basically knows everybody, so even if you are being an asshole the police usually just talk it out and 80% of their job is wrangling lost farm animals lol. I've been arrested twice for criminal non-civil acts and twice for disobedience and I've never even been so much as thrown to the ground lol.

That's less than 1% of officers that sustained casualties. However, there have been about 60,000 assaults against officers (not including incidents with more than one officer being assaulted, so this may not represent the actual number). That brings it to 7% of officers that face assault.

I also stated that they didn't mention the number of officers in each case of assault, sometimes it could be multiple officers. That means that 7% is probably well under the actual number. If it's 2/3 officers on average it could be 14-21% for all we know. It just seems like you have an issue with the police that has nothing to do with statistics, more of you don't like them.

Can you give a source on that? that really doesn't seem likely as I've never seen or heard of an assault on a teacher in my school or any school around me. Granted I live in a really rich area where everyone gets a mustang from their parents but act like they're "in the hood"

I don't see how anyone actually considers this police brutality. Those men, as far as they knew, could have been putting their lives on the line. Let's be real here. The streamer was 100% innocent; some cunts swatted him, but we can't expect any sympathy until after the case has been settled entirely.

If you want police brutality, look at the man who recently died because the NYPD kept him in a choke hold too tightly, even after repeatedly trying to say that he couldn't breathe.

Anecdotal, but both my parents are teachers in low-middle class schools and have been assaulted by students multiple times in their careers. Worst case involved military grade explosives that some asshole somehow got a hold of. Claimed it was a prank.

are we really comparing being a teacher to being a cop? Cops deal with scum all day long. They don't get calls because good things are happening. They spend most of their night shifts dealing with drunk people looking for a fight. When wearing a bullet proof vest is part of your job description you are going to be on edge sometimes.

At least in the US, an arrest is public information. Add in "newspapers" like busted, that only show the mugshots and why they were arrested before finding out if they are guilty or not, will always be with the person that was arrested.
