Is a g400 still worth getting or should I get a g400s? There doesn't seem to be much notable differences between the two. The g400 is known for the infamous disconenct/reconnect problem, Has the problem been fixed on the g400s?

They are essentially the same. I had my g400s for a year before the DC/RC problem. This mainly came from trying to pull the slack of the wire over the edge of my desk. A little duct tape or a mouse bungee should prevent that. Very solid mouse IMO

I've been using the g400s for half a year and have pulled on the cord accidentally numerous times. It's still working like a charm thanks to the added strain relief for the mouse cord.

depends if you notice/care about the smoothing that the g400s has.
but the cable issue on the g400 is something to consider as well.
my g400 hasn't had any disconnect issues. i have my cable taped to my desk in a way to minimise the chance of the cable getting yanked at the point it's connected to the mouse.
i personally am annoyed by the smoothing on the g400s and surely won't get one if my g400 dies.
but i know that plenty of people don't even notice (or don't care about) the smoothing on the g400s.
though, you could also take a look at the newer g402 and g402s (apparantly the g402 had some issues that are supposed to be fixed on the g402s). it uses the sensor that the g100s uses, paired with some new technology to drastically increase the maximum track speed. i haven't used the g402 or g402s myself, but i've read alot of good things about it.

i don't get the issue with the g400 i've had mine for almost 2 years and i have no problems with it. the way i have it set up gives it extra slack when i move it so it's not constantly tugging at it, idk if i didn't i guess it would have issues maybe

g400 seems wayyy more likely than g400s to get the disconnect problem, I would recommend g400s just off that. Mouse is practically useless when the disconnects start.
