as seen above, twitch is probably against this. twitch was always 'for gamers, by gamers.' You're a nerd and you watch other nerds play games. They don't want their userbase being overrun with creepster virgins trying to donate money to overweight girls in revealing tops.

Twitch has been having problems with people making their bodies the main focus of the stream, seemingly mostly females. So they did this. They had to do the same for men to avoid PR issues.

i was actually wondering when they would add this to their conduct rules since a lot of dudes stream shirtless. Nothing wrong with that as long as everyone is allowed to stream shirtless. I suppose they stamped this out early as it would only be a matter of time before admins shutting down streams of boob and moob statements became a glaring double standard and an interesting PR blunder if major press caught a whiff.

At AGDQ 2014 Trihex had a donation incentive to finish his yoshi's island run shirtless. It ended up raising 3,688.39$. So though I understand why this rule was add the fact that people would donate money to charity to watch one dude play shirtless should count for something.

While thinking this way is admirable, you have to remember Twitch is a business and is run as one. Considering the idea of streaming content with a lower age demographic, you can't have any grey areas when it comes to anything remotely sexual or provocative.

It may have a low age demographic, but that kind of goes out the window when you go into a stream and see people constantly talking about smoking weed (TheOriginalWeed) or swearing (most streams I go to) or drinking (some streams. Also happened at i52.) Or "fucking pools of nerd semen."

they actually have that covered with their mature content filters, so the blame for that would end up on the viewer (for knowingly viewing mature content) or the streamer (for not having the filter enabled when their content violated twitch TOS otherwise)

does not affect camwhores, "dressing appropriately" is a relative term. they will use the excuse "if you dont like my boobs / six pack / six chins / whatever then don't look!11!1!"
