yo can someone from esea confirm if this is actually happening:

we can't reschedule until monday (the next time we can all play) so they're going to force us to play on wed/thurs (days that we cannot play) with either a backup or ffl?

even though we had 6 people able to play today, the day we were scheduled to play

if that's the case that's pretty fucked

please say it isn't so tri

it would be really dumb if we can't move the date to just a week later considering the next esea season doesn't even start until next year, even more so because we couldn't play today because the client was bugging out on two of mad luxurious' players

we were all here but couldn't get people into the game because of the client, no matter what we tried

and it had to have been the client because we were scrimming right before the match and had 0 problems whatsoever

lush and dingo reinstalled the client, restarted their mumble/steam/client/computers, tried messing with the client settings, removed their custom HUD, and many other attempts at trying to fix it on top of trying to discuss what to do with tri

it wouldn't be fair to either team if we are not allowed to play this out

I know ESEA client has had these issues across many many seasons, but could the recent client update to include matchmaking have anything to do with this insane amount of problems the past month or so?

i was trying to write up a request about the rescheduling because of the circumstances but it said it would ban me for support ticket abuse for messaging them about rescheduling :|

What's their reasoning for forcing you folks to play given they are going through with that, out of curiosity? Just because they can? How would you folks playing when it would best suit both teams ruin what ESEA has lined up?

Sorry, just a bit confused as someone who is pretty new to ESEA (only played this season in this league).

Okay, but I mean more so as in what their actual reasoning is aside from being lazy and saying that it's one of their many "policies" that they truthfully and diligently follow at all times.

I'm sure the reschedule will be allowed at the end, but really, curious as to how there isn't a degree of automated flexibility to matches like a grand final (regardless of division). It just doesn't add up to pin the policy tag on it and make people jump through hoops to try and get in contact with whoever.

as long as they keep expectations extremely low they will never have to satisfy customers.

i remember when I was in the open grand final, and one of our scouts had to do a business trip the week we were supposed to play it. We got it pushed back a week and were able to play it out with both teams' full 6. I know they'll let invite teams play matches at different times during the season with things like GXL or i52 in mind, and it doesn't seem to affect how the league runs at all. most of the reason they have these scheduling restrictions in place is so they can start and end seasons for all of the games in the league at the same time.

there is honestly 0 reason why this can't be scheduled a few DAYS (not weeks/months) after when they are telling you that you can't play it. ESEA lan isn't going to be for awhile, this match not getting played during this window of time is not affecting anything.

Assuming you are writing a League ticket for a League issue (question), you wouldn't be banned for that.

I'm not the "head dog" for TF2, I do all League! :)

Last post on this early morning, we are looking at the options to see if we can actually push the match. Should be able to report back in the next hours!

We pushed back the open grand finals match of qf vs budsquad 2 seasons ago when seanbud's pc crashed during pre-match...not sure why this would not be an option??

Why you gotta be so negative?

We have FOUR days to make sure we can all load into an esea server with client running and no issues. Hell even if one of us has to reformat that is plenty of time. :)

That said, thank fucking god that we can play this match. In the interest of fair competition I would have refused to play if either team didn't have their starters. I mean, thats why we play in a sanctioned league, is to have the highest level of fair competition we can.

What I want to know, is why it had to be made a big deal to get this extension. Shooter if you read this, two things, 1) Thank you so much for moving the match. 2) Why did this have to be a struggle?
