cage-You're using an o2 with the hd800? How is that
fantastic combo :)
though; whether or not i'd recommend it would depend on personal preference and goal(s).
i make music (not professionally) and thus the incredibly flat, neutral sound that this combo provides, is just perfect.
another pro is that the experience of listening to good music is, really, drastically amplified.
(when i say 'good music', i mean tracks with good (well engineered) samples, tracks that are well mixed, well mastered, well recorded...)
a considerable downside here is that bad/mediocre tracks can actually (properly) annoy you, and thus can lose their value.
there are plenty of tracks that i am very fond of, but just not going to listen to with this combo.
alot of people say/feel/think the hd800 is 'hard to drive', but that's simply because the headphones themselves are so neutral. these people tend to prefer these nice (often expensive) tube amps that colour the sound, to compromise that flat, neutral sound of the hd800.
if you're immensely rich, then why not.. but for most of these people, i'd have rather recommended them to use something like the hd600/hd650 + odac + o2, just so they'd end up (alot) cheaper than going for something like the hd800 with some $2000+ amplifier. (random examples)
so, i wouldn't recommend the hd800 to someone who's 'planning' on colouring the sound with an amplifier. it defeats the purpose of a significant aspect of the hd800. this is also why i like this particular combo so much; the o2 'respects' what the hd800 is trying to achieve: not colouring the sound.
TLDR: it's situational!
listen to a well-mixed track with well-recorded vocals and well-recorded violins; your ears will be jizzin'.
listen to a 'bad song'; you might delete that track and shoot yourself in the face.
this combo works well for production. of course speakers are better, but are also (way) more expensive, and require your room to not be shit (for audio).
(bonus: you wouldn't like the sound in tf2 too much. especially vocals.)

Monitors. Left is a BenQ 2420z, right is a ViewSonicVP920b (???)
Peripherals. Razer Mamba, Razer BlackWidow Ultimate, Steelseries QcK, Logitech G35. Backlit keys always look bad in low quality pictures. Also small amounts of popcorn always looks disgusting.
Computer. $1200 build, nice old solid but simple case. That's my wifi antenna on top. Also some of my comics.

enigmado yourselves a favor and get a 10-keyless keyboard
I realize this quote is from 2 years ago but, oh god I could never
Before I made a desktop I had a laptop with one for awhile and then it died and I had to get one without and it felt like I was missing an arm. Tried to type on the empty desk next to the end of the laptop's keyboard whenever I went to type in years/CC number/anything in Excel

how much were the desks?
We got them piece by piece:
Two $35 60" table-tops, four $3 legs, and the drawers in the middle were like $70 but we got the most expensive ones. Could easily get a one-person desk for $50. I love IKEA now.
