I wonder if the TF2C admins really even frequent here. But on the topic of it, it's a pretty good idea in general to get someone's attention so they make sure the lobby starts, but it may be too loud for people, hopefully they can add a volume slider for it, or you'll have to use volume mixer.

they also play a louder message when they're about to take down the site for maintenance, which serves no purpose and can come at any time

Quick tip: mute your browser to avoid having to hear that and then unmute it whenever you want to hear sound from it again. This can be done by accessing your volume mixer which if you're on windows, should be in the taskbar in the bottom right corner of your screen.

add rule to adblock

||tf2center.com/assets/sounds/*

or just lower your browser volume via soundmixer

also you can add this to remove the adblock nag screen

tf2center.com##.youShallNotPass

edit: found a better way

I thought this would be a thread about some heavy yelling at someone for being bad or something.
I'm glad it wasn't.

Use greasemonkey/tampermonkey and remove the audio file. Haven't tested it yet, but this works for some other sites:

document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function(event) {
  var audio = document.getElementsByTagName('audio')[0];
  audio.pause();
});

If they could add an option to control audio on website (similar to tf2pickup.net) that would be pretty neat. That also would be better than removing the the audio overall, imo.

I was going to submit this suggestion to their forums- but then I started reading several existing threads where the devs simply shut down the idea of it.

Not sure why they are still choosing to ignore this very popular opinion.
