using updated versions of utorrent is crazy lol, they come with ads and shit
either you use 2.2.1 or you're using another torrent client
either you use 2.2.1 or you're using another torrent client
who the hell still uses utorrent, you're asking for it if you still do.
From experience I can recommend qbittorrent, everything utorrent used to be and more, and really lightweight

Deluge is great. GTK+ on windows is a little clunky, but having a simple torrent client that does what you want and nothing else is well worth it.

Thankfully, archive.org crawled it before it was taken down.

would recommend deluge, qbittorrent, or halite

i've found deluge and qbtorrent to be slow/unresponsive at times so I recommend utorrent 1.8.5, the version before the software was sold and started getting bloated. it is fully functional.

For all of you using uTorrent looking for an alternative, try Tixati. It's super lightweight and works well.
I'd highly recommend a seedbox if you do a lot of torrenting.

Switched to tixati on my new comp a while back (after using it on a backup comp), like it much better than utorrent.

List of relevant torrents to use/not use. Stay safe. Old list (still relevant for the good ones), uT obviously worst now with this mining shit.
Personally use qBit and haven't had a single problem with it.Deluge was good when I used it, too, but one day it just stopped working properly so I switched over.

I have utorrent 2.2 just because I've had this for years and I already have it set up with the labels and directory sorting preferences I want - I have rtorrent on my seedbox though and if that ran on windows I'd probably consider switching
there's a reason though that most versions of utorrent in the past few years have been banned on most private trackers at one time or another, there's no reason to use anything past 2.2

this is the best version. its the oldest whitelisted version on pretty much every tracker
for the most part they all suck on windows, deluge runs like total ass because its written in python

Tixati > utorrent. I remember when utorrent was independent the best thing for peer to peer downloads... If you insist on utorrent, people have already noted not to update past 2.2.

So how is that first year of CS working for you?
Also people sticking to outdated software when there's countless great alternatives because they're so fucking terrified of having to change their habits blow my mind.

Of course 2 days after I recommend this I have issues with it. I'm getting errors downloading large files to a 4TB drive, which is apparently not an issue in 1.3.6, but I figured I'd try out some of these other clients first. I'm trying qBitTorrent but realized it doesn't let you set multiple download locations. Any other worthwhile clients that let you do this?

problem with some of the obscure clients is that not all private trackers have them whitelisted. qbittorrent is pretty solid, but I have to use rutorrent on a seedbox because my school blocks all P2P traffic :/
is this malware shit installed on your computer if you're running version 3.4.2?

are u super mad that u learned python and that its relatively inefficient or what
did python steal ur girl?
python is slower than c languages by an insane amount, doesnt support threading/duck typing/rly expensive to run direct 2 hardware + tons of other reasons why its rarely used on enterprise level shit
its good at some things but its rarely the best choice
