CHERRYdollarlayerFoxi definitely think tf2 hours played have something to do with it as well unless i'm getting stars based on playing in ugc + esea
i'm ranked on several classes i have NEVER played outside of pubs
i'm like 3-4 stars across the board
also i had some really good games this morning my first time playing, but they took about 3-5 times longer than a normal center to start
Wow you are right. You have never played several classes and you are ranked 3 stars on them. And some classes that you have played a couple times, you shouldn't have enough data to rank. So my assumption is that they give you 3 stars for plat experience or something....
You get some stars for the division and the rest you must work for.
IMO it shouldn't work like that. I can think of some medics with plat experience that are pretty poor on most other DM classes.

Ive been in plat highlander and 6s for multiple seasons and i dont qualify for any class. I think past lobby experience is much more important considering i almost never play lobbies

Sure looks like you qualify... Shows you as 3 stars for every class... http://tf2center.com/profile/76561197998954523
So it looks like my theory might be correct. Free 3 stars for plat experience.

Still not scrambling properly. http://logs.tf/900126?highlight=76561197988022174
17 to 24 stars. If its using something other than stars to balance teams, then I have no idea how its doing it.
I knew it would be a fast 5-0 role and it was.

I had my app denied after listing competitive experience above steel, been playing their lobby system for almost 2 years, and have 500+ lobbies. Again, this only enforces the whole "the only way to play advanced lobbies is to grind lobbies". Not good. with the youre only allowed to play on certain classes shit in these AL's is pointless and dumb. Its not like these matter, its a pug, you would go into these to presumably get better. If theyre playing an "Advanced Lobby" youre there to not fuck around, so why the class restrictions? And the scrambling is atrocious from what Ive heard. This is a system that needs to be ironed out before you all think that people are going to pay extra $$$ for almost the exact same experience.

ADVANCED
btw, what are these stars suppose to mean

These are just going to suck so hard if they don't have a picking system whilst the player pool is this low, I really can't imagine many people wanting to pay for this.

they supposedly mean how good you are at the game, 1 star= shit and 5 star = good
doesnt really work tho

The restrictions are to ensure no fucking around. The point of the AL system is to ensure an environment in which a serious, relatively high-level and balanced game can be played.
kounterpartsbefore you all think that people are going to pay extra $$$ for almost the exact same experience.
It's only a dollar, chill out. Just avoid buying a soda once and you have the cost of two months of play, or avoid buying a bag of chips and you have an entire season's worth of AL's.

First off, class restrictions will never ensure anything except that class being unable to be played. This system doesnt let you do anything if for example, you dont play your main in lobbies. Preferring to play other classes while still being serious is possible. The players personality and how they choose to handle the pug will be what makes the pug serious or not. Not how many hours they may have grinded on TF2Center.
Second, its not that 1$ is too much, its the fact that as TF2Center you are offering a "premium" service. Which so far hasnt gained any reason to get the money. 1$ is nothing. But it doesnt matter if it is 10 times the amount. Or ten times less the amount. Its still momey you sre asking for, for a upgrade from a free service.

yeah, the HL lobbies take years to fill and end up blowing. I'm not paying for this, I'm glad we got a beta test-run before they implemented that.

there are definitely problems with the balancing/scrambling and the skill threshold probably needs to be a little higher and better implemented
but I do think overall I've had less 5-0's then regular lobbies, it just isn't as good as it should be either
only done 6s tho
edit okay nevermind balancing is bad

You should give your bots the ability to re-reserve servers, it's painful to wait forever for people to add up only for the server to expire when the lobby starts.

There needs to be an incentive to play this. It's currently free/beta, and no one bothers to add up. Why would anyone pay for this?
This feels no different from regular lobbies, and no one takes it seriously. The only incentive I thought anyone would ever play for was ranks, but even that is poorly designed and flawed with this star system that gives 4-5 stars to players who played that class for 2 lobbies, and 1-3 stars to people who are Platinum/Invite at that class.
This entire idea seems like it is currently flopping, and something needs to change.

TF2Center makes 2h long reservations on serveme.tf, even though they could use 5h long ones.

Amidst all of this negativity I thought I'd mention that out of the ~10 advanced lobbies I've played I think only 3-4 have been rolls, with the rest being pretty competitive. I'm not sure I'd pay for these, especially because they almost never fill even when it's free, but I'd still rather play them than play a normal lobby.
