x3scenario #1 get ready :
medic use kritz to drop the other medic uber.
takes full charged medigun with uber
win round
oh boy
scenerio #2
no medic in the world wants to risk this.
both teams run kritz,
one runs vaccinator to counter the kritz
other med runs vaccinator
valve predicted this
this is why vaccinator was buffed.

I dont think we should write off this ubercharge retaining mechanic straight away, it looks like it will reward aggression and punish mistakes, stuff that might teach people to play the game better.
edit: wait no its changed a bit
SideshowYeah we just tested it, it's now broken. It was good before! But now it's fucked. Dropping uber now gives the enemy team a full uber to push with, and if you kill a med kritzing then it'll drop whatever they have left. And if you dry push with uber disadvantage and win, you have a tonne more uber. And if you kill the med at mid you have a 60% uber and your own too.

Dropping an uber is already a punishment.

do we really want a cvar thatll make comp even more unlike pubs instead of just getting used to something new

All valve would have had to do is include a simple cvar that can turn the uber % part on and off (like spread), that way leagues could decide if they want to use it or not.

I would be ok if they would do minimal changes to gameplay and just fixed the game. I would wait for a game I could trust to run consistently without these hiccups. It would probably be easier to fix all the broken stuff that comes with huge gameplay changes if the engine wasn't still running Gabe code.

Just give me my caber back valve and yeah this uber thing is kinda dumb. Ashville is gonna be fun for HL come monday with still broken sticks and this uberchange.

To be fair, the only time it's really broken is when you push off of like 20% ad and uber in to kill the med.
A lot of the scenarios you're talking about the medigun would drop on an entirely different point than the fighting is happening at, making it very unlikely it will get picked up before it disappears

It'll certainly be interesting to see how it plays out.
But as usual, the tf2 comp community hates everything that's different so we'll probably just see people ranting about it for now.

I agree with Muma while comp Tf2 is different compared to pubs why make it worse. While most of the comp community doesn't want change but this just means better positioning for the medics and if the med know hes gonna drop he can just switch to primary or melee or if he does drop protect just do the current meta and have 2 players sac or something sneaky. I'll probably get a lot of hate for this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

changing such core thing isn't that good honestly, especially for people that've been playing the game for 6+ yrs

Isn't this the whole reason why Kevinispwn made the video about weapon bans? It relates to "if one team runs something, the other team is forced to run a counter or the same thing."

we just lost a round in a pug because the other team kritzed into our second, dropped our medic, then picked up the medigun and ubered into last 10 seconds later. It was literally the dumbest pug ever with medics swapping mediguns and doing dumb stuff.

I feel bad for Razer: First tournament tomorrow and they are being fucked by Valve

It just makes milking the uber or holding during a force a really bad move. One wrong step and your team has lost the round, not just a cp or two.
You can argue that this raises the skill ceiling but in actuality all it does is make medics more likely to bitch pop. Makes roamers' lives easier, makes medic less fun and interesting, and makes countering a sniper much harder.

Maybe you need to play with good meds who actually pop then

Anyone else crashing constantly? Anytime I connect I crash during map loading unless the server doesn't have item connection. Then, as soon as items come back I crash again. . .

idk man etf2l said that gunboats made soldier 2easy and banned them for like three years or whatever
im not sure I trust all of this theorycraft enough to say confidently that the mechanic should be removed outright
just play with it for more than 2 days and see what happens?

I don't play CS:GO, but it doesn't seem too dissimilar to a team spending a lot of money early on the AWP or whatever it's called, right? Medics and teams will need to be positioned correctly when they have significant uber. Period. Or maybe teams will run Vacc or Kritz more often just because getting those ubers is quicker. Sounds fun.
Now, granted, I think 30 seconds to pick up the gun is a bit much... Maybe 10 seconds? So dropping the medic via sniper doesn't allow your team to push twice in a row? Or having some sort of dropoff where the uber % in the dropped gun decreases the longer it's on the ground...
