Sensitivty feels off

Hi,

For the past two weeks I've been very uncomfortable with my mouse movement. I couldn't exactly put my finger on exactly what felt off, but everything feels incredibly slow. Its particularly noticeable when strafing or trying to flick shot. I don't know if its mental or if there is an actual problem with my mouse. I tried taking a break from tf2 (as I usually do whenever I get "off" periods) and upon returning I felt no improvement. I don't want to change my sensitivity as I've been using it for over a year and a half (5.5 inches/360). Any tips/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use a zowie FK1 if that matters.
I have raw_input enabled and vertical sync and mouse accel disabled.

hitting your fps cap in TF2 causes input lag for some people.

Try uncapping it.

I actually did uncap it recently and I found that I got strange projectile lag. I also use a laptop (I don't have a good reason) and it causes it to heat up pretty fast. I've also had an fps cap for years and I never received any input lag.

desktop composition causes lag with windowed applications

essentially they aren't allowed to push a frame until the desktop compositor, dwm, actually composites the rest of the image too. causes insane input lag. ways around it involve having such a high refresh rate that it doesn't matter, using full screen so the application has exclusive control of the display and doesn't have to wait for dwm, or disabling composition in vista/7 (can't in 8+).

I have a similar problem. When I start playing my sensitivity is great but upon playing for some time my laptop heats up and the sensitivity feels slower or "draggier". I hope when I upgrade to a PC with a good cooling system this issue will resolve.

If it's overheating your computer is throttling to make sure it doesn't melt. That probably lowers your fps and gives you that sluggish feeling

Try putting books just under each corner of your laptop to raise it off the table a little so it has better airflow underneath.

have you cleaned your mousepad or looked to see how worn down the mouse feet are? this can sometimes cause drag

I play TF2 bordereless windowed and kill dwm.exe before playing, will I still be laggy?

I had this problem with my laptop before the harddrive failed on it. I'd run a check on it.

KaiThePhauxI had this problem with my laptop before the harddrive failed on it. I'd run a check on it.

A while ago a turned off one of my ssds to allocate more ram to stuff I use or something. Could that be the problem?

Make sure you pray for satan.
Sacrificing some virgins also help.

What do you mean exactly when you say "feels off" ?

Try switching USB ports, maybe the port you're using is about to die causing polling instability.
