I started the setup for windows 10, once the download started I went off to work. I now came back just 40 mins ago and I can't seem to log in...

It says on the menu "Hi there, welcome back!" (I'm assuming you guys seen this too) under that it shows my profile and the avatar. On the lower right there is a button labeled "next" when I click on it the screen freezes and acts like it's not responding, I click again and the screen turns white (like I said earlier that it acts like a program not responding). Then my PC restarts and goes back to the menu.

I've tried restarting my PC manually.
I've tried logging out also Ctrl alt delete and hitting my windows key.
I've also set up narrator and the bot that talks when I select "Next" the bot then says "Beep windows is not responding. Beep".

I literally have no idea what to do other than throw my PC out the window someone help.

im pretty sure that thing is useless from latest versions of windows 7

just be sure you have "enhance pointer precision" disabled and you're done

do you know what his fix does, in the first place? because it's very unlikely that you will ever need it.
the only game i've ever played that needs it is the original cd-version of Quake 2.
(i presume they've fixed it for the steam-release of quake 2)

anyway; he's updated his blog-thing to "The MarkC Windows 10 + 8.1 + 8 + 7 Mouse Acceleration Fix", so i would presume he successfully updated the fix to work on Win10. my guess is that Win8 and Win10 are very similar in this regard.
you could always just test it with MMR (mouse movement recorder).

also if you use acceleration, just use the one in the game it's prolly much better

Not at all. In game mouse accel is VERY frame dependant and is almost never consistent

i can't imagine how good the windows' one can be...

The windows one is ass... that's why people use a 3rd party application just for fixing mouse accel

i had to delete anything nvidia from my computer to actually install my drivers... that only took an hour to figure out

it scared me at first cuz the driver wasn't installing correctly, but after the second attempt it told me to just restart my computer and then it recognized my video card and the installation worked

that's basically the only hiccup i ran into though

For everyone who uses Notebook with switchable graphics (AMD+intel) be happy, they are finally giving it support. Everything is recognizing my AMD graphic card now instead of the Intel card.

is there anyway to remove this "search windows" thing? dunno what its even called so i cant look it up

right click it and under the "cortana" menu, select hide.

I ran the old benchmark demo from this thread on both my current Windows 7 Profesional installation and the new Windows 10 Pro.

Windows 7:

2639 frames 18.530 seconds 142.42 fps ( 7.02 ms/f) 5.774 fps variability

Windows 10:

2639 frames 18.495 seconds 142.69 fps ( 7.01 ms/f) 6.143 fps variability

So yeah, no actual difference. At least for my configuration.

Apparently you can skip the q by downloading the ISO's.

I removed my dvd drive and it's too much effort to plug it in again (not enough extra cables).

the search box in the taskbar itself, there should be a secondary menu within it called "cortana" and when you highlight it there should be a "hide" option.

Same thing, but choose Search instead of Cortana.

It's Search for you because you haven't activated Cortana.

could be that windows is still indexing your drive (after which searching and some browsing becomes much faster)
