Roster locks? wtf... I haven't played dota for a few months now, but do they have some federation or something with rosters regulations now?

I paid not so much attention this past year to the dota scene (for shame) but I'm genuinely curious (for anyone who watches streams, see's how the teams REALLY interact behind the scenes) why would Aui be cut?

Aui didn't play very well imo in the finals but I still can't believe he was kicked, think ppd is being dumb. I don't get why Arteezy wouldn't just replace Fear if he's thinking of retiring soon due to injury.

Aui wasn't a star player but he seemed to get the job done whenever it counted. I don't know how good Fear's support is but still, it's really fucking surprising to kick someone on their high like that (though with majors I guess they have to). Whatever they were doing clearly worked. I do think the major reasons they won TI is because they only fought Chinese teams in the main event, who didn't know how to play Techies or vs Techies (ignoring col because they're not on the same level). I say don't fix what's not broken even if Aui is arguably replaceable, but behind the scenes ppd seemed to not really like Aui's communication.

valve announced majors (think csgo) that will happen 4 times a year (including TI) in an attempt to keep the scene more stable in terms of players/teams. if they decide your team is switching too many players around, you don't get invited.

I don't know man, I think I love AuixUniverse and DendixPuppey more than ArteezyxFear.

just because you're the best in the world doesn't mean you shouldn't take whatever steps you can to get better. if ppd, universe, sumail thinks they'll do better with fear + rtz than rtz + aui or fear + aui, you make the switch.

Honestly i think it's safe to say they made this decision because fear is nearing retirement, and they need someone to cover for him. Now whether or not Arteezy leaves if they start doing poorly is another can of worms. i also agree with #12, considering that ppd said during TI5 that he has more respect for fear than any other player on the team because of how long he's been around.

I never liked Aui on c9 and I never liked him on EG, although I'm am an EG fanboy. I think aui leeched off of fear and envy a lot more than other supports in order to gain farm. On top of that I think the playstyle of aui revolved a lot around split pushing and playing "scrappy" a lot like the original c9 team. I think EG takes a much more teamfight playstyle rather than that scrappy split pushy dota. With the addition of Arteezy I think EG has arguably the best drafter, carry, mid, and offlaner in the game. With that said I'm not sure how good fear is at a 4, but with his experience and his knowledge I doubt it'll be too hard to transition. Overall I think this change is actually incredible for EG. They have 5 players who mesh the best of any team in the world and possibly the most skill in the world. Great things to come

Keep in mind however, the biggest issue is that now you have 2 risky and arrogant cores than an arrogant mid and a conservative 2. But if it pays off, then these guys will have little to no competition :)

I think this is also a case of EG making sure nobody else getting rtz, the guy is probably the best player in the world and can literally carry games himself. With secret folding why would they risk him being set up in another team that could be much stronger? If team secret had more team chemistry they would be #1 and don't forget, they had a strong showing before ti5.
