Since teamfortress.tv is now regularly casting Invite matches, ESEA will be enforcing rules for player aliases in the Invite division only (relating to the Professional Conduct Policy). If your match is being casted or has a chance of being casted in the future, please change your ESEA alias to one that is easily recognizable by casters. Otherwise you will risk an Invite Conduct Policy Violation Ban™.

Let's keep this rule in effect for more than just this season plz. It had been a rule in the past and apparently faded away for unknown reasons.
I remember smaka being forced to change his name from TheJoker...and I think a wood pig member(s) getting a short ban.

Like what if mason had changed his name to chairuser like everywhere and like his friends knew so he decided to change his ESEA too and then nobody on production knew and couldn't recognize him. In that case he clearly is not intending to infringe on the rule, but he still causes the same inconveniences to the casters and somebody who did intend to use it as a joke (eg somebody who changed their name to xxbongsmoker420xx right before a match). People could end up getting banned all the time accidentally.

i think the point is to make the players recognizable to the viewers, not the casters. saying slamBerg or Saelot isnt the same thing as saying 6yrsofhighschool or FAILURE. sure mason has been using the chairuser account for 3 seasons now, but no one calls him that, so it should just be mason

I think you mean how if my name was "rawdog" ...is it passable as me? People know I played as rawdog, "rawdog down" is even a fun way of pointing out how horribly I've failed at something, yet it is better for a cast and makes things more clear for people to call me bloodsire.

that's why the easiest way to remedy this confounding issue is to just change your name to the one by which people (especially those who aren't necessarily your friends, like casters) know you the best
it's seriously the easiest thing in the world; you have to purposefully cause trouble for it to be an issue
