Various streamers I watch or pop in on (Not gonna name names) but people that main CS, H1Z1, Halo and ect. I've heard various times a comment like "Oh shit, were playing TF2 players" or something like that. Brings a smile to my face every time and just makes me love this community even more :)
Honestly, one of the biggest reasons I'm so excited for Overwatch is because of the chance for all these TF2 players I've watched over the past few years get exposed to a bigger audience. It's exciting seeing players like Seagull, Clockworck, and B4nny with thousands of viewers. It's exciting to see people on the Overwatch subreddit that know next to nothing about TF2 talking about these names. It's exciting to see players like Pyyyyour, Oplaid, and Dummy again, even if they are just testing the game out.
Are the TF2 players currently considered one of the best groups in the game? I watched them destroy the Quake player team a few games in a row and I know they went toe to toe with the devs
Air_they should be scared of seagull

TF players and some of the Quake players are the only ones that can go up against the devs atm. They are the ones to beat and the ones coming up with most of the interesting strats, EG: junkrat airpogo.

I hope they all get filthy rich off of OV. They really deserve it with the amount of time and dedication they put into TF2 with no promise of getting much from it.
Anyone else think the view count on all the Overwatch streams is kind of sketchy? Like not really much proof but I think Blizzard may have view botted a few streams.

or maybe people are just hyped to see a new fast paced game

Considering there's like 10 million people trying to play the beta and like 1% of that got in I'm not at all surprised at high viewer numbers.

summit is pulling barely above average viewership and lirik breaks 50k pretty often with new games on day 1

But Seagull getting 7k viewers is a bit ridiculous, and the chat didn't look like a typical 7k view chat. Like I said though, it was just a thought. I could be totally wrong

So who came up with 5 winstons 1 lucio first? mixup guys did that last night but seemed like it could have been a dev thing.

I feel like some average joes, e.g ugc steel players may label themselves as "pros" to get in on that

Seagull got super high viewers because several people posted clips from his stream in r/Overwatch. He's super popular over there because he's one of the few popular streamers playing it that doesn't suck ass.
Plus the night/morning stream he got 7k there were no super big streams on at the same time.
His most recent streams at peak hours have been pulling like 3k.

It's kinda surreal for me that the "big names" as far as TF2 players are concerned in OW are the same big names I grew up in TF2 following/watching.

I'm interested to see how easy this is to do. It seems really easy, still looks super fun though.
