Thoughts? The OLED display looks interesting and is a good first to have for more useful iterations in the future but I think it's insane overkill right now. The vibrate feature is pretty useful, I can see that being used for counting ubers or something. Other features are pretty nice.

Will anyone actually use the screen though or just put team logos there.
Vibrating thing could be useful for enemy uber or something

See this is great because I was born with a rare crippling disability leaving me unable to press any key bound to +scores so it's absolutely essential for me to have my frag count on the side of my mouse
And having vibration feedback when my spells come off c/d in Dota? FINALLY I can play Bristleback and stimulate my prostate at the same time! O brave new world!
I mean seriously the features are cool and might have some interesting uses but what the fuck was the design ethos here LOL

yea the stattrak shit is dumb but its a step in the right direction for peripherals, making them very useful for lots of different things. as maxi and i said, the uber counting thing is REALLY useful and im sure there are good uses for the display as well but its definitely not as good as the vibration w/ game cues/triggers thingy

IDK about anyone else but I don't think looking away from my screen to see the same information on a corner of my mouse that my thumb is going to cover anyway is very useful. That said, if you were in a fight and knew from a mouse vibration that you could use an ability without looking away from your target to look at the HUD that might be useful. Very niche functionality though.

I used to own a steelseries rival, and the side grip wore away after about 2-3 months of use, and you could stick your finger inside the mouse. This newer version appears to have the same grip, I would not recommend it. Go with zowie.

The more recent batches of the rival 300 have eliminated this problem for me

Yeah I agree, I think that display won't have much use as of now but could be useful in the future in other ways - I don't think I ever said it was useful currently. Sorry if it came out that way, the display is overkill right now imo. The uber counting thing can really only be applied to the vibration feature.

this is a joke right
it's hard enough to hit shots without the mouse vibrating lol. Also the only time an lcd was actually useful on a ss mouse was the sensei so you could not have to use the drivers that ate up about as much memory as google chrome. While they weren't mopping up system resources, they were crashing.

That's correct, if you feel that way you can help me purchase said mouse by heading over to my patreon page at patreon.com/warhuryeah
#nosellout
Legit though, this is quite frustrating as SS seem to have some of the better build quality and shapes with their mice, their on-board software isn't that shit either, however, they always seem to fuck it up by cutting corners in some way or just loading their mice with pointless shit that just add to the weight or unbalance the mouse in general.
Plus this being their first mouse with the 3366 and they bring this out is a massive bummer, having this sensor in a Rival 100 chassis would be really fucking good.

You could try modding it? Might be able to fit the 3366 in the Rival 100

Not a terrible price tbh. Overall its packed with gimmicks but it might not be that shit, will have to wait and see.

Filled with pointless gimmicks that add insane amounts of weight.

Into the trash it goes.

Looks like the sensor is modular so it would be pretty easy to swap with another mouse with the same connector. I don't think there are any yet though and it's probably proprietary so you'd only be able to swap it with other steelseries mice.

Why would you ever want to swap the sensor if they released their mice with decent sensors in the first place? Pointless feature.

i wonder how much you could mod the mouse so that it weighs less. if you could at least get it to ~100g, it'd be a really good mouse. i bet that the rumble motors are a good amount of the weight, so that'd be a place to start.

If you want to find out i have a dremel and a affinity for tinkering with mice. I will consider making a teardown and modding video if there is any interest next time i have money.
