I plan on replacing my Steelseries 6gv2 (black switches) with a Noppoo Choc Mini this week and dont really know which switches to go with. Red, brown, blue, or stay with black? Im kinda considering the browns based off this: http://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/?page_id=1458#keyswitches
What are your thoughts/opinions/recommendations?
Also, I want to teach myself how to type proper instead of using just two fingers pecking at keys. Would a simple site like the be fine enough? http://www.typingweb.com/

Although this is a very 'personal preference' type decision, I would go with red or brown. Red and brown are both very light keys (they have the same springs iirc). Personally, my fingers get tired using blacks. Reds are the same thing as blacks except they require less force for actuation. Browns are effectively reds, except there is a very light click upon actuation. Personally I much prefer the light feedback of browns to the much more noticeable (both feel and sound) feedback of blues. Personally, I prefer browns for typing and reds for gaming, although the difference is very negligible for me.

After a lot of research i decided to go for browns because they have a lighter actuation force and what everyone describes as the "bump" similar to the blues without the high-pitched click that i was worried would annoy my roommate. Lots of people say the blues are not ideal because the reset point is higher than the actuation point which is weird for gaming. On the other hand if you are doing a lot of typing the blues seem to be the accepted standard for favorite typing switch. Honestly it seems to be personal preference though, and if you like your blacks i would wager that you would love reds as well.

I've used blue switches for about 2 years. They're decent for gaming, but they are loud as shit, and also take a while to get used to. Writing essays and papers on blues feels too amazing to give up though.

Blues may indeed be fine for gaming, and I am sure that many people here use them for this, including members of my team, however that does not mean that what I said was incorrect. If you look at the force diagrams for each switch, you will see that the blues are the only switch that do not reset at more or less the same point that they actuate. This essentially means that with blues you have to let the key come up higher before you will be able to register a new keystroke, whereas with the other keys they "turn off" at the same point that they "turn on" so they can theoretically be toggled easier.

Is there a way to mount one of these on top of a regular laptop keyboard, or is there a product like that? My keyboard is pretty high up (from 1.5 to 3.5") because of the cooler.
