A few more I thought of...
12 Angry Men (was surprised how good this was when i watched in in a highschool english class)
Lady Vengeance (part of the same vengeance trilogy as OldBoy)
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (same as above)
Wall-E is probably the greatest animated family film ever.
Ip Man 1 & 2 ( both excellent.. I think there is a third, haven't looked into it.)
UHF (a great comedy starring Weird Al Yankovic
Gattaca ( A movie that looks deeply at genetic engineered humans, and the consequences of it)
The Matrix (IF you haven't seen this and are wanting to watch some great Sci-Fi this is some of the best there is, if you enjoy the concept and want to see more of the lore, check The Animatrix)

Weebshit but Evangelion. I think it's something that everyone needs to watch at least once.
Foxsilence of the lambs + hannibal (tv series, don't watch the movie)
Would have to disagree with this, Hannibal movies are great (the ones with Anthony Hopkins at least).

i think if u watch anime the evangelion tv series + end of evangelion movie is 100% required watching
not even because it's good but it's definitely the most influential anime series

shorasFoxsilence of the lambs + hannibal (tv series, don't watch the movie)Would have to disagree with this, Hannibal movies are great (the ones with Anthony Hopkins at least).
the only saving grace of the hannibal movie is anthony hopkins
i wouldn't agree that the hannibal movies are great besides silence of the lambs tbh
both red dragon movies are a bit lackluster compared to just watching the show, even if it got canceled early
i'm an avid reader of the book series, so the hannibal movie was not the best adaption from literature to cinema, although i think it's just because the book was incredibly dense with info that they had to cut some characters/plots for the movie
i wouldn't put it as a movie everyone should watch compared to just silence of the lambs

ProcreativeThe Waking Life
My GOD, yes. I have only ever met one other person who's seen Waking Life, and it's so good. It took me a couple of watches to understand what the ending meant, though.
- Dr. Strangelove -- I don't even usually like Kubrick that much
- The Triplets of Belleville -- an unusually animated movie with no dialogue and a ton of personality
- Boyhood -- the one where they actually filmed over a period of 12 years with the same actors, aging
- But I'm a Cheerleader -- girl gets sent to a "gay curing" program. lighthearted and a bit campy but also hella real
- O Brother Where Art Thou? -- The Odyssey happens in the 30s, is a riot. incredible folk soundtrack
Edit: also, watch the original Cosmos with Carl Sagan. The first part of the first episode is a heck of a lot of staring at space, alternated with Sagan's face staring at space, but after that, it's so damned fascinating and so well put together. It really makes you feel awe for the universe and the brilliant minds who have been discovering it for millenia.
