A few days ago, i was playing really good and i felt that my dm was really good at that time, but then i played some Brawhalla / L4D2 with some friends for a few hours (Idk max 3) and now i feel like i'm not as good as before.
Like it makes sense that if a play a game for too long instead of playing tf2 i will get rusty and stuff, but i only played 2-3 hours and that's it and i don't feel like if i was the same person as i was 4 days ago, in terms of DM / Gamesense.
This has happened to me many times, as soon as i get some minutes in some other game that ain't tf2, i get rusty inmidiantly.
Is grinding DM / MGE the only way to "recover"?

just playing the game should make you not rusty

Lobbies tend to help me through that rust. I get the same issue too much.

i can say from xp tf2 and l4d2 handle very differently even though they both run on the source engine
dont grind just play enough to feel warm i think

I think you are looking way to far into this. It may have been just a bad day or something maybe you didnt get a good warm up in before scrims or something. It takes much longer than 4 days to develop rust

just playing the game will do it for you, but mge tends to be more mechanically demanding

play 20-60 minutes of DM before scrims. stop DMing when you hit that 'zone' where you feel capable of hitting your shots, then just relax a little bit, maybe some jump maps to stay warm and when you get into game you should be good to go.

One thing I get paranoid about when switching over to different games is my mouse sensitivity. Try making sure your 360 distance is the same as it is in tf2 when you play other fps and see if that helps.

jumping really helps me warm up for soldier. also, bball is really good for warming up imo.

better than simply "grinding" (aka fighting everyone you come across in DM and MGE) is specifically MGEing players equal to or above your skill level. other forms of play are almost entirely useless if you want to get better than how you remembered yourself being.
if you're actually attentive, if you're consciously playing, & if you don't have an ego, it'll be mentally & physically engaging and you'll unrust/warm a lot quicker.
you can't improve by being lazy. optimize your time & min/max your training routine.

id disagree tbh, there's still things to learn and master when fighting bad players . There's nothing wrong with playing against people a bit below you in skill as long as you're still having to actually work to beat them

i think when u play not so good players rather than playing just to get the most points u do shit like
only go for directs/always go for the double/triple airshot instead of waiting for him to land
dont miss a shotty
dont hit s/always be the aggressor
shoot everything as fast as possible instead of waiting for easy shots
if ur playing scout v soldier always try to kill him in a max of one scatter clip
dont showboat or try to embarrass him but figure out how to work on the harder shit if u have no problem rolling him doing the easy stuff

You only need dm so you can click on enemy gamers.
Gamesense is objectively biggest skill.
