maybe its nostalgia but I loved CoD 2 way more than 4 or any othe cod. That game was so good and so fun. Probably the best multiplayer I've played other than Enemy Territory

MW3 was such a let down. It's a god send compared to AW and BO3 though.

the gun progression in mw3 is super cool

but theres like 3 guns that are fucking stupid and everything else is trash

Hopefully there will be mod tools so we can have promod again.

Considering mod tools are in closed alpha for BO3, I'd be surprised if they didn't allow mods for a remastered game that had mods.

inb4 it will not have dedicated servers and no modding at all, but all the killstreak bullshit from newer CoDs. Promod was what made CoD4 great.

As far as my experience with CoD on PC its broken. On MW3 every 30 seconds you randomly get massive mouse accel/sens increase and end up doing 360's. Hoping they dont fuck up if its true...

Shoosh that was a pretty known problem in MW3 for people when it was still new.

There are a few possible fixes (I don't remember how I did back then).

1. Close FRAPs if you have it open.
2. Seta r_autopriority "1" in your cfg
3. Close mouse software (ie synapse)
4. Reduce polling rate as much as possible

Now to think about it, I'm pretty sure reducing my polling rate is what fixed it for me. You'd probably have to get adjusted to it, but once you are you'll be fine.

CoD 4 was the first online multiplayer game I played besides CoD 3. I definitely recommend this to ANYONE who has not played it before. Much better than most all the CoD games out there!

I agree, CoD 2 was the best. That game was the absolute pinnacle of skill based Call of Duty. vCoD fits in that category as well, but CoD 2 was just a lot more polished. I'm glad to see they are doing the remastering of CoD 4, as it was the next best to the aforementioned versions, but I'm sure as though you'll have to buy the new version of the game to get it. I hope not but I can see it as a strong possibility.

And I hope to god they have dedicated servers and mod tools. They could totally reinvigorate the PC CoD scene if they don't take the lazy route on this one.

Can someone explain what made CoD4 so great in comparison to say... MW2 (Which is the CoD game I spent most of my time with)?

Maps and weapons were much better in CoD 4, more balanced IMO. In pub play killstreaks weren't complete ass to play against, and on PC CoD 4 had dedicated servers and mod tools, allowing a ProMod version of the game to be created which was used in competitive play. Look up some videos of ProMod if interested, that was one of the best parts about the game. Overall I think CoD 4 was a more simplistic game, which I find much more enjoyable to play. Much of the reason why I still think CoD 2 was the best out of them all.

CoD 4 was also the last version (not counting WaW) that had dedicated servers and mod tools, and is one of the reasons it's still the most played version of the CoD franchise on PC (I believe it is anyway).
