I really hope it stays to just hats/weapon reskins. Imagine if new players couldn't use the Escape Plan nor the Boston Basher. The only way to make that fair to everyone would be to ban all discontinued weapons. Hopefully Valve is smart and doesn't do that.

Oh man, those hats just upped in value a bit. To be fair, they've been super saturated for a long time. A Vintage stash is only a key while some of the other vintage hats are worth more. It's probably a good thing. They wouldn't retire weapons because they're used in the game, and not cosmetic features.

valve does a lot of interesting things involving stat trends and even hired a reputable economist for input on their microtransaction system( http://blogs.valvesoftware.com/economics/it-all-began-with-a-strange-email/ ). i cant see the point behind this besides using the market as a petri dish as they've done so many times with tf2
