Will third party comp lobby sites become obsolete?

This was a thought that I had in my head when the matchmaking beta became a thing, I thought to myself "when valve fully fleshes out their matchmaking system for the public and is balanced, will it replace third party lobby sites such as TF2center? Or will Valve's system not be nearly as successful as today's system?" I am curious to see your thoughts (even if it has been discussed before maybe)

Did Faceit and ESEA CS pugs die whem CSGO MM came out? No. Why? Because good players know that mm is not a good way of practicing. The point of these integrated competitive features is to teach and expose the competitive scene within these games, therefore I doubt there will be an extinction of these third party lobby sites.

not really
matchmaking at the moment is a playground for 6s (or comp players in general) players to fuck around and do whatever they want, and even if valve actually adds a whitelist or pro maps (product, granary_pro, reckoner, etc.) or anything related to comp, people will still use TF2C.
plus mm is mostly used to show a new player the concept of comp.

It depends. I mean, if Valve's MM will evolve into a proper 6v6 with class limits and a whitelist, then I imagine TF2Center and the like will definitely die. Sites like TF2Pickup would probably still survive though as they usually have better players playing there, require comms and can also cater to specific whitelist needs, if Valve's whitelist is imperfect.

But that's all speculation, we don't know where Valve's gonna go with MM.

3rd party sites like esea and cevo are popular in csgo
people go there because there are
1. less hackers
2. more skilled players (people taking the game more seriously)
3. 128 tick (doesn't apply to tf2)

lobby sites have class limits and real configs, first to two rounds is the most awful config possible

the community is also much bigger and better able to support multiple lobby sites

I doubt ESEA players will drop 3rd party pugs, but if the bottom half of the 6s community drops to MM because of convenience then tf2center is gonna be in dire straits

I think TF2Center will survive because of Mumble comms. In-game voice is still shit.
