"matchmaking is already kind of dead" he says about the game mode that has not yet been released and is still in beta. Next he'll probably be saying that Faceit is dead when that's in beta too

The golden age of competitive TF2 was 2009-2013.

I agree with a lot of things b4nny says. i'm glad he's kind of a middleman for Valve to get feedback for MM. I'm confident he's doing a good job
edit: He also seems like a nice guy who just likes TF2 a lot. He can get defensive about it at times which is why some people say he's changed. Most of that is wrong. People just treat him differently now so he treats everyone differently back
Sunshine was okay. Better than some other maps in the pool at least. I'm really hoping Phi doesn't give up on the map and improves it to the point where people will vote it back in
Also everyone please give Reckoner a chance. It won't improve if nobody plays or gives feedback
99% of b4nny subs are cool. There's only a handful of exceptions and they ruin it for the rest
(I'm saying this as someone who rarely actually watches his streams. My experience with b4nny subs is outside his chat. No clue what his own stream chat is like)
The stream list on the TF2 main menu is aids. At least 5 viewbotters playing TF2 since it was added (no idea why but they were all Russian). A lot of pubbers in chat backseat gaming.
Growing the twitch community at the cost of the community becoming more toxic is not worth it.

owlCloudmaker is a better player and better teammate than pretty much everyone who hates him
He's just the new version of geknaiir
A lot of open players hate him for no reason, but there are plenty of invite players (who used to play IM when he was IM/open) who express their hatred towards him.
owlThe 'cloudmaker is retarded ' meme is sooooo much more successful than 'geknaiir sucks'
"cloudmaker is shit" has been a meme for almost 3 years.

this is just based on the difficulties my friends have had actually finding mm games, despite everyone I know having 8+ mm passes to give away at a moments notice. i cant verify because i dont have enough frames to play mm.
i would like to see some kind of incentive structure to encourage the average pubber to grind mm, and hopefully further performance optimization

From what I've read, your average player is having a lot of trouble getting out of rank 1. I think that's primarily due to the ranking system being flawed. It's a ladder system that doesn't have a placement period like CS:GO, everyone starts at the bottom so the skill level of rank 1 games is all over the place. I imagine it's very discouraging to newer players. On top of that the game runs very poorly in matchmaking. I think if these two things are remedied, the matchmaking experience for your average TF2 player will be much more fulfilling.

Not a fan of zowie mice, FK was highly underwhelming and overrated (the original one), the recent EC2-A was a lot better but I couldn't get passed the awful click latency.
Badland is a ok map rather than a good map. I actually like process and metalworks more. Would also love to see the return of gravelpit.
I wish 6s had more class variety while still being fast paced...

idk what kind of response that is, i literally have no choice but to wait until it is released. but dont pretend that i cant have an opinion on something just because its in beta; its been widely available to pretty much everyone for months, and given the perpetual development model in TF2, you could say it'll always be "in beta". we certainly did not see the same reservation of judgement during the overwatch beta
i greatly enjoyed the couple of hours ive been able to play in mm even at ~10fps, but i am a comp tf2 player and am biased towards that response, much like the rest of the people in this thread. the average pubber who doesn't care about tf2's esports prospects doesn't have the same inclinations

- More unlocks will gradually be allowed over time after i58, maybe everything by i61
- The EU format for 5cp could learn from the US (I'd like to see the "first half"/winlimit 3 on two maps)
- ESL might be the best avenue for comp TF2 to go big, AC client and all

I actually really enjoy casts, I feel the hype up on some of them is amazing, i found out about tf2 five years ago through watching comp games

idk what kind of response that is
I think what is meant by the response is don't declare matchmaking dead before it comes out
You are judging the matchmaking beta; which is fair. It's not complete, and has obvious issues. Just make sure to make that clear in your posts. Lots of people jump from "the matchmaking beta has big problems" to "TF2 is dead" pretty quickly (albeit primarily on sites like Reddit)
