missing map error when joining server

im on a new computer now and yesterday i moved my config custom sutff and maps over on to this computer but when i join my server when it has for example snakewater_u8 on i get the error "missing map maps/cp_snakewater_u8.bsp, disconnecting" even though i do have it in my map folders with the correct directory. i already verified my game cache what else should i do?

Does it say that for every map or just snakewater?

the server probably doesn't have fast download, so you wont be able to join the server unless you download the map from the internet.

server has fast download and its every map but oddly enough mge_oihguv_sucks_a12 works

Remove the map from your tf folder or whereever it is and then rejoin the server and download the map from there. I don't know what causes the problem though.

2 ideas

1) put it in downloads/maps (prob wont fix it)
2) make sure it is the correct filesize (is an actual issue)

i uninstalled and re installed tf2 and put the maps in my maps folder and it worked.
