I am reposting what I last posted on that thread just in case UGC deletes my post:
I will try my best to organize this post in a manner that proves why we shouldn't be in plat.
1) We won't be scrimming/practicing AT ALL. We will simply be showing up for matches to play. I'm not sure how significant you guys think this is, but it is (IFA.R scrimmed practically everyday if I'm not mistaken, and it paid off)
2) Our starting roster:
misskay - medic
chimpoo - heavy
shlaner - demoman
avast - soldier
takeo - pyro
kace - engineer
perey - scout
poiso - spy
mendez - sniper
From this roster, our demoman, soldier, pyro, engineer, and heavy are all offclassing.
(I've never played heavy for a UGC Highlander Team before except in PUGs)
Our demo, soldier, pyro, engineer, and scout are new to highlander, and are only mid-high ESEA open (playing for the first time BTW after playing UGC 6s)
3) Here are the teams in Gold that can probably beat us in a match looking at rosters:
Let's Play Some Highlanda! (basically old uBs with offclassing)
+fwd (tR. with hein as their new medic)
eBm (neon, mamboulay, rich, hugh laurie, need I say more?)
HDISR (aka SAG, once a plat team)
Top Gluttons (solid team mentored by vhalin, invite player and engineer of america)
COSTCO, djinn's nine, etc. etc. and all the other teams that will be practicing/ scrimming, etc.
4) What team in plat will lose to us? Someone please tell me. Maybe DMS, but they shouldn't even be in plat this season. (Let's play some Highlanda! rolled them in scrim earlier today, proving that UGC doesn't know how to set divisions in their own league)

It's a damn shame that shit league runs a monopoly on NA highlander solely because they've managed to get in bed with Valve and allow them to add a million medals to the game every season.

What does that have to do with competition to get downgraded? It seems like it's really intimidating/not fun for most HL teams who can't compete with the top 5 or so teams and would prefer gold. Would have to make a super special division to appease everybody who wants a downgrade.

Same thing happened with ryuswagwa. we somehow were placed in gold when none of us really played hl and we were all offclassing. we would lose scrims against steel teams and we never got moved down so now ryuswagwa is no more.

Also, what if my team doesn't even play next season? And they are also basing our division placement on our team's record last season, even though our new team only has ONE player from that team's starting roster continuing on our new team.

Also, what if my team doesn't even play next season? And they are also basing our division placement on our team's record last season, even though our new team only has ONE player from that team's starting roster continuing on our new team.
