if we get a LAN at Indy I'm requiring everyone to bathe before their allowed within a mile of my home.
I hear some of you fucks went to GXL and thought people were kidding when they said you smelled bad... nuh-uh. not around my saint of a mother.

The hell?! People actually do this... I understand that some of you don't want to rent a hotel room to save money but come on, hygiene is important.

And almost anyone would let you hop into their room to shower for 20 minutes, if only to spare themselves the unique horror of 3 day unwashed nerd fed a steady diet of travel, mountain dew and grease.
Sad to see the GXL on hiatus, it was probably the best community LAN we had in TF2. However, it seems the absence of GXL is motivating some people to step up and fill in the void, myself included. I hosted a couple SoCal LANs last year and could look into reviving them if people were interested, just let me know.
I was finally thinking of going to a gxl. A socal lan would be the next best option. The lan fests back in the day were bumpin.
we need another toronto lan. I hate driving to the states, us border patrol are fucking dicks. I get searched every time I cross windsor-detroit and niagara falls-buffalo.

its a win win, all costs would be CAD so us Canadians dont get fucked on exchange rate, and the americans win because 1 usd = 2 cad

But then we'd be subject to searches when coming back, so I wouldn't say it's a complete win-win.

"coming back"
But not going there?

Hey guys, I only saw this thread now, as I'm working at a summer camp with limited internet access.
I've been meaning to open up a thread to discuss the future of LANs in Toronto and area, because I would love to do more. I have been procrastinating the discussion because one, I'm working all summer, and two, I was dealing with some depression, which is part of what made the last LAN kinda bum.
I'll read into this more when I'm at my computer, which will hopefully be tonight.
Hidi you're a G.
HMU if you need help with anything.
drshdwpuppetI have heard whisperings of FITES being no more next year, and they don't truly have the infrastructure to support a gxl sized gathering of you nerds.
Well we (Foray) have/has beefed up the infrastructure... And we are still a little sparse on staff... But the REAL issue we are having now is with venue. The Park Inn has been a nightmare to deal with for the past 3-4 events and it's so bad they don't even realize that our sales person has moved to another hotel. (And we've heard rumblings it may shut it's doors before the year's end.)
EDIT: We are working on a venue for the last weekend in Feb2017, but it's not looking good. The venue is smaller and we are still waiting to hear about how much power is going to cost.
Sadly I came looking for this thread to schedule time off to go to the GXL. :(
