I've been grinding soap dm and a bit of mge for the last couple of months and my dm has really improved since then.
But these last couple of days i've been struggling to hit shots i could've easily done days ago.
It's not like it's a "bad day", i've had bad days before and they only last like 1 or 2 days, i've been having this problem for like a week or so.
Like right now, i feel like playing soap dm instead of improving it, it makes it worse.
Like you know when you keep playing with one toy every single day the toy slowly gets old and breaks and shit?, well that's pretty much right now.
Should i take a break or something like that or should i do something else like surfing / jumping, maybe go back to hud editing?

take a day or 2 off and just do stuff irl/play not tf2
u can also not bomb and sit on high ground all the time but thats a preference
mostly just the first part and go fuck around in an emulator or other games or do what makes u happy

Yes
That you've had it for a week already, I'd recommend having a couple days-week break from the game as you likely won't really have a better option. I personally had a break and it did a lot good & might help you too
edit: whoops 2 slow

I agree with taking a small brake, it's what I do to get rid of DM jitters

This happens to me all the time, it always feels dumb when i don't practice for a few days then come back and hit everything

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that literally makes no sense. The only things that could ever be affecting your ability to hit with the same consistency you could a couple of days ago are a "bad day" (which is normally a combination of sleep issues, being tired, not nourished) or you're simply sick of playing and the lack of motivation is making you not be able to concentrate like you could a couple of days ago. Take a small break or try to find the fun in what you're doing. Otherwise, you're simply not as good as you thought you were, and even if you think they're the same shots you were going for and hitting a couple of days ago, no two situations in a 3D FPS game with movement mechanics like TF2 are ever 1:1

Taking a break might not help, your mind will still visualise the game and you yourself will probably tune in to watch a tftv cast or two.
As a prophylaxy to not go full burning out or finding out you're actually inconsistent , and you are close to it as clockwork inclined, I suggest to play some mm, relax, get into the flow, and try to relearn to take the game less personal.

When this happened to me I started doing bot maps for 30 mins every day before playing and it hasn't happened since

I've spent about 100 hours stalled or even worse than I was before. ( i only have 600 hours)
I got a new mouse, tried new sens, reinstalled the game and lost my visuals, went away for 3 weeks, and now I just can't hit shit as a scout.
I'm contemplating lowering my sens to help my scout aim, but if i do it makes soldier and demo more difficult for me.
So yeah, I feel your pain.

Practicing aim can be overdone. A few weeks ago I literally played 10 hours of mge/dm per day for 4-5 days and the last day I could barely hit anything because i had been using my arm and wrist so much that it needed to rest from the... "physical exercise"

Same for me, I've been mostly practicing on bot maps recently and my aim has gotten noticeably more consistent.
