Just curious, I am doing a survey on peoples dpi in game and out of game and if they change when they are surfing the web or doing something casual.
Personally I use 800 dpi in game and 400 or 800 when surfing the web depending on whqt i feel like at the moment.

400 dpi for everything because it's the only dpi my mouse has

Universal 1800 because I don't want to open my software and change the value for other non-gaming tasks. Might do this a little more if I get a mouse in the future that has onboard dpi switches

Personally, I mainly use 400 dpi however it is important to note I have a "dpi shift" key that temporarily (while holding the button) changes the dpi to 3,000. The shift key helps to do 180 degree turns in-game a lot quicker and also navigate my multi-monitor setup a lot easier (without the need for intrusive mouse acceleration).

Why would you have a separate DPI for TF2 when it has a completely variable sensitivity option

Having different DPIs seems too tedious, because you change it around and work off of your in-game DPI with in-game sensitivity, imo
800 DPI for me, all the time.

1000 dpi, as long as the mouse doesn't jitter or predict dpi doesn't matter imo.

400 for everything but I just played a bit of dota and apparently that doesn't have an in game mouse sensitivity option? They expect you to change your dpi for the one game... incredibly dumb, no wonder some moba players have stupid dpis
